I can't remember the program name, but there's a file manager that changes mp3+g files to cavs format on the cavs website.....I'm not sure, but it may convert cavs to mp3+g.....

It seems like using the JB Manager would take a long time to transfer, I would suggest that you do an IDE transfer. If you don't know how read the manual but remember what ever you do DO NOT HOOK THE JB HARD DRIVE TO A WINDOWS OS. In order to do a IDE transfer with the JB99 HD you must use DOS. If Windows touches the JB99 HD you will lose all your data. Once you have tranfered all the data then you can use the program from kjamp.com. Standart transfer time for that many songs should be about 14 hours depending on speed and ram.

Hi VGA,

Be prepared for a real battle in whits between you and the Cav's hard drive. First of all...it can be done....it won't be easy. The only practical way is by IDE transfer and as Dangerus stated "don't ever hook it up to a windows OS and let it recognize it". DRDOS is the OS of the Cav's drive and it can be DL'd from the CavsUSA site. The next big potential problem is getting the computer (when running in DRDOS OS) to actually see and read it. Not all computers can do this. I tried (4) different pc's before I found one that would work. Reading the manual is a must, and "try, try, try again" will be your mantra. After many tries....read the manual again, and it might make more sense this time. It has been at least 8 years since I've done it, and I only did it once. I used the JB99 at home and it still works, but it is retired. I will have to say that it was simple to operate, and other than the graphics not coming up quickly enough on sound choice and a couple other mfgrs, it was a good machine for it's day.

After you retrieve all your songs in .mcg format (or .cdg Cavs version) you can use the afore mentioned program or the grand daddy of conversion CDGFix.

Let the battle begin,

I've completed the " JB199 conversion task" several times now.
I use a Dell Quad Core desktop with CDGFix and pumped out twice that amout
Overnight.

All CDGFix needs is One Key and she'll spit the rest of them out like butter.

You could waste your time with KJ AMP or you can Get 'Em Done!

Hi Swooop,

I believe the original question was referring to the JB199 predecessor the "JB99", quite a different piece of equipment. JB99 is DRDOS, and JB199 is WindowsXP. I'm sure the conversion was quite simple with the JB199, but believe it is not with a JB99!!!
