Why buy a different TV? Check this thread--> http://www.karaoke-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=15345 ...the topic is somewhat different but the converter discussed there is all that you would need. |

What model is the laptop? Quote: also if you have any other suggestions for a newbie with laptop and cdg player to connect everything to my mixer and transfer video to tv
![]() Take your cdg player audio output to the mixer. Take your laptop audio output to the mixer. You will need a video switcher of some sort, this is the one I use http://efunctional.stores.yahoo.net/m61151.html - it allows for all inputs to be converted to any type of output on the output section. I use both the RCA & Coax at the same time. Now connect the video switch to your tv. |

![]() I'm also new so this may be like the blind leading the blind. I looked at WalMart last week because I was going to upgrade my TV. They had a 15 or 19" LCD with RCA's, Optical inputs, and a VGA serial cable input for less that $200. I had also thought about using a 17" LCD computer monitor instead of a TV because you can get them on-sale for cheap at times. I think either of those would work for you.. Good Luck! |

DJ Dan, After looking at this item it appears it is a video capture item, in other words it will take different forms of video inputs and convert to usb output to be sent to your computer, unless it also works in reverse it would be of no use to the original poster |

It creates MP1 or MP2 video output. |
