Post subject:  CDGfix & ASPI layer for Vista

I purchased CDGfix yesterday and am having problems...
it says that the "Load Disk command does not work"

also that the ASPI layer is not (correctly) installed...

it says to remove the current one from the control panel. i cannot find one installed there. then it says to go to adaptec and install the correct one, but i can not find one for windows vista.

while troubleshooting i also found out that
"for microsoft windows vista there are no need to download and install the basic aspi drivers since the aspi support is built into the OS.."
not to sound dumb but, ?huh?

any help would be soooo appreciated. i already feel way in over my head.

Would think that Vista could handle all SCSI protocols although it wouldnt hurt to download this and use the checker. Also copy the winaspi32.dll into the windows/system32 folder.

For programs that run with XP and have problems in Vista right click on the desktop icon --> compatiblity and select XP Also use Admin permissions.
