Oceantracks (new manufacturer that has posted a thread here! http://www.karaoke-forum.com/viewtopic. ... ht=backing SBI does (both karaoke and non-karaoke) Zoom and at least one private individual... I've heard him talked about on here, but can't for the life of me remember. |

OMG !!! $99 per song is a bit steep. I'm sure there is a lot of time invested in creating a song but there is NO SONG that I want to sing badly enough that I would spend $99. I wonder how many songs they have sold so far. I hope it's a large number for their sake. Maybe someday they'll offer the ones that they've already produced at the prevailing rate that most karaoke companies sell them for. One can only dream. |

I might... Zoom did the same thing initially, and if you want the song bad enough... Tim D did that on a couple of them! I've paid $40 for a couple from SBI once. |

I bought all of the Springsteen tracks that SBI had available that I couldn't get anywhere else but they were all about $4 each. I sing so many different songs that there isn't any one song that would be that important for me to sing that I would pay $100 for it. I don't have a problem with anyone else wanting a song that badly but I just wouldn't sing it often enough to make it worth while for me. I get tired of singing a song after just a couple of weeks. |

For karaoke purposes, yeah, $99 is expensive. But if you need the backing track for some other type of performance it sounds like a pretty decent deal to me. |

I agree, in fact, I would be ready to spend on some Elton John songs if Zoom would like to do them for me |

As a person that has been known to do a custom backing track from time to time I would say ninety-nine dollars is more than reasonable for a one of a kind custom track. You need to keep in mind the amount of time it takes to do a reasonably accurate track. I would say the bare minimum for me would be ten hours and could be twice that depending on the complexity of the tune. So if you take into account the time, the equipment and the talent required to do a one off, then ninety-nine dollars seems to be a decent bargain from my perspective. |

I need some clarification here.... When you say that you make custom backing tracks, are you saying that you are creating a CDG (with the graphic word-swipes included on the disc), or are you saying that you are just creating a track with the main vocals removed (or even all of the vocals removed)? |

I am saying that I am a musician with a small studio. I actually do all the parts on a tune, from simple guitar, bass, keyboards and drum tracks to full orchestration if needed. I don't simply try to remove vocals from an existing track.I also don't make the actual Karaoke disk, I just do the music. I don't do it very often, usually just for special friends, when I have some free time.....right Vicki. |

I e-mailed karaoke creator.com about creating all of the tracks from the album, GREETINGS FROM ASBURY PARK by Bruce Springsteen and he quoted me a price of $3,000 to produce that entire album for karaoke. Apparently I'm not THAT MUCH of a BruceFan4Life. ;c) I better go back to being an ElvisFan4Life. There are a lot more songs to pick from. |
