Post subject:  UPS "delivered" my package but I couldn't find it

I ordered a Phonic Powerpod package deal from Musician's Friend on Christmas day and it was scheduled to delivered on 12/30/08. UPS normally deliver my other packages around 5:30-6PM, so I figured that it's going to be the same time for this delivery. I checked the tracking online before I left work at around 4:30PM and it said that it was delivered at 4:00PM at my front door. When I got home, there was no packages left at the front door. I checked my neighbors and they said they don't have it, one neighbor even said that he received someone else's package before too.

So I started calling UPS, they said they can't do anything about it until Musician's Friend put a tracer on it. I called MF twice just to have them start the tracer process, which they told me would take 8-10 business days to notify UPS. Can you imagine 8-10 business days just to notify UPS of a lost package?

Apparently, I googled up UPS and lost packages, and I'm not the only one. Gosh, here comes the waiting game and the frustration. There goes my karaoke machine for the New Year, and it's probably going to take another month before I get any resolution on this issue. Will update.

I had heard on the news a few weeks ago, that there is a new fad for the crooks. They would follow a UPS truck and watch for when it would drop off a package to someones front door, as soon as the truck left, it's Christmas time for the heathens.

I had something similar happen back on Valentine's Day last year. I ordered my lady two dozen roses to be delivered...and figured they'd arrive before I had to leave for work...so I'd get to see her reaction. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP...so I looked like an idiot on V-day.

The tracking number said it was delivered to my address...about half an hour before I left for work...

I found it the next day...at the VACANT house across the street!!! :x :x :x

I had something similar...

I was on the beta test for Longhorn (which eventually got re-written as Vista). Back towards the beginning (before the 2k3 code rewrite) Microsoft shipped out a computer to test on, as well as the disks.

I never received mine. I called UPS and then had a 3-way conference with Microsoft also. Someone signed for it...

I lived in an apartment with a shared front door and lobby, but then individual appartments.

So it turns out that one of my neighbours MUST have signed for it when I was out, then kept it.

MS duly sent another computer, but they hardly even bothered to chase the original.

UPS were a little more concerned and sent me an image of the signature...

MY NAME! But obviously not my signature.

How rude!

Years ago I had the same problem. I can't remember if it was UPS or the company that made good on it, but I received a refund and was able to repurchase, no problem. It took some time though. Good luck !
