I recently started singing this song and man, what a great song. Runaround Sue was one of my best and favorite songs to sing and it still gets people dancing, but I really dig Rollover Beethoven. The Twist is always a crowd pleaser too . . .

Johnny B Goode is another song I need to learn. I just love music from that era and genre. I do "Who put The Bomp" and "Wanderer" too. Jerry Lee's "Great Balls of Fire" is another fun song that I love the sound of.

I agree these are timeless hits. "Love Potion" is another good one. Or how about "Shake your Tail Feather" and "My Girl".

Love Potion #* is a classic and every time people hear the first few notes of "My Girl" you can hear the crowd murmur it's approval. I get a great reaction to Ray Charles' "Georgia on my mind" too. Even though it's a slow song people seem to love it.

Rockin' Robin gets a heckuva reception for me - sung in my low key. The Elvis version of My Way is a biggie, along with If I Can Dream.

I'd love to hear you sing those songs, Joe. Have you got that new schedule of shows up on your myspace page yet? Or maybe you could put them up on the Singers Showcase so everyone could hear?

Everyone seems to have some great songs that they like to sing but how come no one puts them up on the Singers Showcase to share? No recording capabilities? or just no desire to share?

I have some songs on there, I put up ages ago. I tried out Singer's Showcase for a while. It just isn't my thing. Just a personal preference. I enjoy KJing and the live experience. I find I can't belt it out the same way as with a live situation. I'm usually disappointed with my recordings because of it. It isn't that I need an audience. I just get a different feeling with the loud music behind me. I sing for the emotion it gives me and I just don't feel it in front of my computer.

I hear you Babs. That's why I sing with my full karaoke system and not with just my computer. I play it so loud that the neighbors can hear it when I'm recording a song. It makes me feel like I'm singing to a bar full of people.

Well, if the thought of my singing excites you, Bruce, I can offer even better! Call me as previously discussed! I'll kick the home machine on and serenade you! C'mon, what do you say?! I feel kind of honored because I'm the only one in whom you show any interest!
He loves me! He really really loves me!

You're the only person on this Forum with shows in northern New Jersey and I'm always looking for a good place to sing. I keep asking where your shows are but you only want to talk to me on the phone. I don't want to chat. I want to find a place to sing. Your singing wouldn't be exciting, Joe. It would be only something to listen to; no different than anyone else's songs on the Singers Showcase. I go to karaoke because I like to sing and I also like to listen to others sing. I enjoy the Singers Showcase because people can get to hear me sing and I can get to hear other people sing that I will probably never meet in real life. You on the other hand, claim to do a bunch of shows every week and I just would like to find them. By the looks of your myspace page(5 friends) you could use a few more singers at your shows. Maybe if you didn't try to keep your shows such a secret, you'd have more of them?

Well, that's succinct. I have to tell you Bruce, I have gotten a LOT of PMs that advise me to ignore you, because any answer will not be good enough- you aren't really looking for an answer.
However, that's not my style. I don't like to be rude, and I really think you are alone, and could use someone to talk to, hence my offer to speak on the phone. I always feel that posts and texts lack much, and hearing a voice will give one a better idea of the person to whom they are speaking.
As previously posted, I am in the midst of great transition, and it is 1 week into January. I haven't even finished my holiday events yet. However, I can PM a list of some of my venues before the transition, and you may feel free to call for references. I would post them publicly, but I don't know whether they OR the forum would like it. However, I will make the same offer to those who need to know this for some reason.
One thing to add, in case you ever do show up Bruce ( I somehow doubt it. I think yer just bein' icky ):
On all of my advertising you will find the following: " No Contests, No Divas, Just A Good Time I mean it. As far as I can tell from your posts - and I could certainly be wrong- You are not a professional Karaoke Host or singer, yet you seem to have much hostility toward those in this forum, and their opinions.
If this isn't caused by some personal problems ( and I truly think it is- and wish I could help), then you would just be a Diva. I don't treat Divas well at my shows...
As for Singers' Showcase, I just think that I'm no longer good enough that I wish to record.
It saddens me to say that- as mentioned on another thread- I now have to pick and choose my songs and keys much more carefully. If you were in my business long enough, you would find that some hearing loss is unavoidable. When this happens it can have a major effect on your singing. In my case, songs in higher registers can cause me to key drift. I have enough of a loss to cause a problem, but not enough not to know when I blow it..
On the other hand, I can still get away with lower songs ( preferably around G) well enough....

1) All I'm looking for is an answer. The people PMing you about me know nothing about me or what I'm looking for.
2) I'm not alone. I have plenty of people to talk to....my children, my grandchild, and my friends and other family members. In my free time I enjoy karaoke.
3) I would definitely show up at one of your venues if I could find one of them. ICKY???? I don't get it. I am curious as to whether or not you have any shows in these upscale venues you keep bragging about. I have a hard time believing that a place called Jalepenos is anything more than a Taco Bell with a liquor license but I could be wrong.
4) My negative comments are usually directed towards phony's and hypocrites. I'm a skeptic. I don't just take something as gospel just because someone took the time to type it out. Seeing is believing.
5) Is every good singer a DIVA? Or is everyone who thinks that he's a good singer a DIVA? Can there be no such a thing as a down to earth talented singer? I go to many shows and I patiently wait for my turn to sing. Yes, I do get annoyed when people get to sing out of turn but I don't think that makes me a diva. I just like a fair rotation. You have mentioned that you will leave a karaoke show for various reasons. Does that make you a DIVA or a discerning customer? I just want to be treated like everyone else when I go to a karaoke show. No better or No worse.
6) Anyone is good enough to record. Singers Showcase is not a contest and everyone at every level is welcome to participate.
7) You claimed that you get a good response on a few songs and I just would have liked to have heard them. I guess that makes me icky???

Can you just stop those crap. I have read enough of it and many here would love to see ban. If that is what you want.

All I'm doing is trying to find a new place to sing, Jian. I'm the one being insulted by Joe yet I'm the one who gets the warning?
I will no longer use this forum try to find a place to sing, even though I thought that was one of the reasons for having a karaoke forum. There are many threads about karaoke in different states where people try to find a place to sing. When I do it, people want me banned. I just don't understand. Joe had claimed that he had at least 5 shows a week. I was only looking to support one or more of his shows. Apparently, his shows don't seem to exist so now I'm the bad guy. So be it. I will ignore Joe and all of his claims of superior shows at superior venues. I'll just have to be content with the dive bars that I go to now.

It seem that you get insulted by anybody who post a reply to your post. My English may not be good but I understand enough English as to who started this crap.
This thread is locked My apology to the OP.
