Post subject: | Pcmcia capture device and Compuhost |
I know some of you use Compuhost, I'm having a problem with my video capture device. While in Compuhost, everytime I switch from internal to external, it will only work the first time, when I switch back to internal, the next time I switch to external,I GET NOTHING. So if I CLOSE OUT of Compuhost, turn on the device from it's icon, go back into Compuhost, IT WORKS when I switch to external. Sooo!!! I contacted Compuhost, and they told me that my capture device is PROBABLY not WDM compatable, and suggested I buy a usb capture device from Newegg, that they said many of their customers suggested. Since I ALREADY have so many things plugged into my usb ports, I was HOPING someone here would know of a PCMCIA video capture device that is DEFINATELY WDM compatable. Maybe someone is using one with Compuhost? Maybe??? Thanks for ANY HELP!! Rosario |

I've read about numerous intermitent issues regarding the PCMCIA interface, although none regarding video capture devices per se. Anyway, I've been using a USB Dazzle with great success, however I seem to remember reading that it has been discontinued. I got mine from BestBuy. tbreen |

Another possibility would be to use a USB Hub, if possible self powered. I use this one here: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=2722584 It's small, compact, has 4 Ports and does the job. |

Well guys, I received an answer from Compuhost, telling me that they cannot recommend a specific PCMCIA capture device that is compatable, so it looka like I'll take their advice on the USB device they suggested. I already have a USB hub, so I guess that I'll just add ANOTHER item to the hub. Thanks for ALL of yuor help. Rosario |
