Post subject:  Some suggestions on what to sell some LDs and equipment

Hello all. With the current economy plus having most of the songs from my LD collection on CD+G, I am looking to sell my entire LD collection and I need help getting some estimate what I can sell for. First, I will be deleting any songs from the collection so I will be legal.

Here is the list of the collection.

Pioneer CDL-V870 player for both LD and CD+G in perfect shape

Nutech Megastar Country Hits: 6, 8, 18, 19, 21, 23, 25, 30, 31, 36, 37, 39, 40, 44, 45 and 52

Pioneer Top Ten Country Hits: 14, 18, 21, 22 and 23

BMB NLD Series: 16, 18, 20 and 21

Greatest Love Songs Series: 1 through 8

American Karaoke Mega Discs Series: 3, 5, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17 and 18

Nutech Megastar Hit Songs Series: 17, 24, 32, 38, 41, 42 and 51

Pioneer: 1, 20 and 22

I know I can sell them cheap and get rid of them. However, I noticed that some of the songs are not available in CD+G so they may be rare and difficult to find. I just want to get the maximum out of it. So, please let me know what you think I should set the price at. I am probably going to sell them via Craigslist so I don't have to ship them. Thanks in advance.

Being one that still uses lasers, I can buy those players for $100 all day long - just bought 2 of them a couple weeks ago - same model with rack shelves for $150.
The discs I see being sold from anywhere from $5-20 each - the higher for Pioneer 28 song discs.

I keep thinking I'll put the lasers on VCD...but alas...soo much work!! I have two sets of Pioneer LD's 1-56, 200-211 some of those songs are done very nicely...and not available on cdg, kinda sad to see them go by the wayside. I've also bought the Pioneer laser players on ebay for as low as $25 (without the stopping after each track feature though). Hard to say what the market will bear... you could always lower the price if they don't sell?

Thanks for the replies. I think I am going to put them up for about $300 and see if they sell. If not, I can always lower the price.

You have 53 LD's... $300 may be a bit low? I'd probably go for $500 with the player, then lower it if they don't sell... I didn't check which area you are in, so I may be way out of line. Here in Cali, things are expensive...

Ah Ha.. you are in Cali... I'd go for $500 if I were you and just see what happens...
Good Luck :)

Do they all have the cute videos like the Pioneer ones? If so, I want them.

Do you have a song list?

They all have videos with words at the bottom. Some of them are not so cute, I would rate them at PG-13 with bikini models and some have some cheesy models that has nothing to do with lyrics but the music is decent on most, specially the pioneer ones.

I would sell them to you but I don't want to ship them, too bulky especially with the player. I am doing local pickups. If you are interested in local pickup, I can probably tally up the song list. Thanks.

I don't remember which one it was...too lazy to go look...but the song "I'm a Believer" by the Monkees...DANG have you seen that video on the Pioneer disc? I have no idea what it's about but it's got this scary looking clown guy, doin' weird things...what it has to do with the song I can't begin to guess!! Some of the videos though make me smile because of all the 70s and 80s styles of clothing. Gosh, so long ago but seems like yesterday for me...

I am sort of planning a NoCal trip, but don't know when yet. I could easily send you a pre-printed UPS label that you just put on a box and drop off.

If I ever get to drive to Oregon, I will stop by one of these days. Isn't Redding with that beautiful new bridge? I may come up for a photo shoot.

Well, it's not the UPS part that is hard, it's the packing part. I would have to get a huge box and plenty of cushion so they won't damage during the famous 4 feet drop of UPS ground shipping centers.

Are you interested in all or just some? If you are interested in a few, I can do that. No one inquired about it yet so I can take those you are interested off the list. Let me know. Thanks.

Eben,
Yup, that's it! Funny, that bridge put us on the map! It is a cool bridge, but I dunno ..it's so modern looking for a not-exactly-modern city :) Let me know if/when you come through
