Post subject:  Ok I Have A Real Noob Question

Just got my first piece,a dbx 266xl.Other stuff is back ordered and i want to hook this up to try and get familiar with it.
I''m not sure how to hook it up properly and don't want to smoke something.Currently i have a yamaha emx 66m powered mixer.I want to hook this up to that.I have a xlr cable that i can use from a spare mic and an xlr into a 1/4' cable.
The instructions are pretty vague.
Can some one help me please

You would normally hook it up via the insert points on the mixer, but the EMX does not have them. You will need to connect the mic to the compressor then compressor to the mixer - not as effective but will work ok. If you can use all XLR, this would be the better connection.

I like your choice of mixers, your obviously building a nice system, and yes, it will have the patching abilities you are looking for.

Man, I'm glad I read this thread. I have an EMX88s, and I didn't know I could do that.

So thanks from me, too.
