If you add the items together you get $405....did you maybe mean $320?

A little of both really. As well as being around drunks, smoke, drugs, general debauchery...

It is also a little more/deeper than that. I am sure a lot of people will disagree with my views on this, and that is ok... this is what makes us different. I want to preface what I am about to say with this: I do not judge anybody for making a living doing what they feel is best for them. I am the last person to cast stones... I lived down and dirty doing all the things I am trying to get away from...

It really comes down to the fact that 90% of what is involved in hosting karaoke in a bar goes against my moral/spiritual beliefs. I can no longer ignore the fact that I am promoting/enabling or condoning behaviors that exist within bar life which are the exact opposite of what I personally believe to be Christ-like. (aside from the fact that he dined with prostitutes and tax collectors) 8) I see people destroying themselves, their self respect, their health, their families, marriages, their vehicles, their souls every night I work. I have felt this way for some time now, and had wanted out for months...but put that on the back burner because I need the income. Nothing has really changed...I still need the income, but I have decided that I need to walk the walk and stop being a hypocrite. My faith tells me that my needs will be met if I am walking with Christ. There is something wrong with going to church on Sunday after playing the music that people expect to hear in a bar... or singing songs by request to please customers like "crazy (@$%&#!)"...etc. You get the point... And don't get me wrong... nobody twisted my arm. I am drawn to music that is totally sinful in content. I grew up loving all the 80's hair metal that is all about sex and partying. I enjoyed singing the songs that I liked... I enjoyed the attention from all of it. But the point is... It's wrong for me. There is enough sin, negativity and temptation in this world without being immersed in it three nights a week. Anyways, this is probably way too long and more than any of you wanted to know... but there it is...

I wish everybody luck ... the best.

I'm losing my mind...I was referring back to new prices. $370 shipped will work. :D

I think that is fair considering new prices would be $600 or so...

The key word here is "new."
These are not new.

Exactly how old are these and how often were they used?

Of course they aren't new....which is why they are $370 including shipping rather than $570. :D

They are a couple of years old. Haven't been used in my karaoke rig much. Basically I had put together a couple of different rigs, but never had more than one venue. May have been used 3 or 4 times for shows... plus a few band practices and at home playing around.

You can be a karaoke host and not compromise your values! I've done christenings, weddings, etc. I've worked for VFWs and Moose lodges, and Senior Centers.

Music is good for the soul, listening to it and singing it. If you're a good KJ, there is a lot of good you could do with your skill. Free volunteer work at youth centers, etc. the possibilities are endless.

Each to his own I guess.

I think your price on the Shure UHF mics are a little high considering they're used. Brand new retail just about everywhere is $300.

Thanks for the reply. While there may be other avenues to take, working in a bar is not one that I can continue to do. You can't deny people songs to sing based on personal moral choices and keep business. Just not practical.

In regards to my price... these are not the $300 mics. These are $400 new at all the online discount stores like Musicians friend, etc.

Most people that I know expect to pay about 50% of the price of new when they by used musical equipment unless, of course, you're buying classic instruments.

That was really sub-par behavior from any adult... especially someone your age.
If it really made you feel better about yourself to throw that out there... I think your life must be pretty empty.

One other thing to take note of.....There have been many reports lately about counterfeit Shure microphones so people might be a little bit gun shy about buying them sight unseen. Some people have sold them without even knowing that they were counterfeit.

Unless Musician's Friend sells fakes... these are the real deal. 8)

Well, good luck to you. I work in a small office with someone that became very spiritual, to the extent she is now a preacher, or pastor, sorry not sure of the term. She knows about my new business and thinks it is cool but has told me she would never step foot in a bar to hear it and would only sing songs from my library if they were religious. So my xmas songs would be it at this time. Anyway, no one here or anywhere has the right to judge you. Again good luck and when you get to bargain basement prices (sorry not in the market for anything at this time--((not even a player bruce so don't go there)). Hope things work out for you Frank.

Good luck to you Frank in your endeavors. It takes a real man to stand up for what he believes in, so don't pay any attention to any smart (@$%&#!) comments. Besides, you judged no one, you only stated what was right for you when you were asked.

I have an uncle who uses some type of midi karaoke tracks where he changes the words for religous a ministry he does for young people. Many possibilities perhaps to keep you doing what you enjoy...Ron
