I have yet to work on a lcd TV but my TV is broke. There is a feature where if there is no video in a few seconds it darkens the screen. Mine is shutting off the display even if there is video present. There is no schematic or block diagram available. So I am just going by educated guesses armed with a digital volt meter and a good scope. The first pic is the unit carefully dis-assembled. The board trace up still mounted is the power supply. The board I have to TS is the I/O & tuner board with components side up shown in pic2. A legend on the power supply plug has a pin labeled brightness vbl ctrl. I am praying that this is the auto shutdown signal to the power supply and by opening will disable this feature. It would be a simple fix. Normal fix these days would be replacing the board but I still component TS (trouble shoot) Also I notice in the lower right corner there are traces to mount a video and L&R RCA jack for outputs. That would be nice to run video to a bigger screen and stereo to a real system. Pic if you want to see it pic |

Pretty sure all that sh!t has to be assembled, before you'll get a signal and a picture........try that and see if that solves the problem..... |

If it breaks, I throw it away and dig up the $$ for a new one... I'd surely electrocute myself if I tried to fix something of that sort. I best stick to singin' and sellin' insurance. Lol |
