The following might be helpful
http://www.vegas4locals.com/freekaraoke.html
Personally, my favorite show is at Ellis Island Casino (it's at the Super8 Motel on Koval St). The show runs late into the morning and runs seven days a week. Also... very good and reasonable prices
Unfortunately, while still included in the above listing, the live rock band karaoke at "The House of Blues" (Mandalay Bay) has been discontinued. And what I know from personal experience you should check the accuracy of any listing before actually heading out!
We found a new show that we enjoyed last September (I believe on Wed) at the "Havana Cigar Club" on Paradise. Small place and very intimate
You may like or hate Imperial Palace (everyone who has been there says their no rhyme or reason to the rotation. But I guess with so many tourists who is the KJ worried about offending? I found it okay - I'd go back!

Cueball and I have gone to see TJ in the Harrah's piano lounge. He does a good entertainment show (for about an hour), and then opens it up to casual karaoke involving the audience. I think it goes from 6pm to 9pm.
He goes to another location right after that to host karaoke for the rest of the night.
Cueball, any contact information on this dude's show??

I really liked Terry-Oke, over at the Flamingo.....should still be there wed thru sun. I hated the guy at Imperial Palace for many reasons.... ...for one, he anounced the presence of his tip jar between almost every song. "Lostinvegas" , a member here, has a show....... http://www.myspace.com/bottomlinekaraoke
you can check her profile on singers showcse, I've never been to her show, but from knowing her on here, I've come to the conclusion....she is a sweet heart....have fun......jj

I'll definitely check out a member's show. We'll be in Vegas, probably, by March, if not sooner. I'll let everyone know if I find other "worthwhile" shows/venues. I will also check out Harrahs.
I'm so curious why the live band show is gone from the Mandalay Bay? It was packed and very entertaining. Everything was organized and a lot of energy flowed.

50/50 chance i'll be there from feb 2-6 Jam. i'll pm you and let you know.
Randy the kj at Imperial Palace and that show gets real busy, but as mentioned, there is no real rotation and he does accept bribes. Him and his brothers and friends have a lock on several karaoke shows because their father owns an advertising firm in vegas that caters to the casinos- according to my sources.
Been to TJs at Harrahs and it's a good show but you gotta get there early and be prepared to be in a bright spotlight surrounded by tons of people watching you perform. Wouldn't reccommend singing a slow song.
I though Mandalay Bay Rock Star Live-Band karaoke went out of business like 2 years ago for financial reasons. The crowds weren't coming in and the 2 bands kept asking for more money........?? that's what i heard from locals there.
Anyways, Jam i might be there to meet a friend feb 2-6, if not then, then definately feb 16,17,18 for the dj expo.
BTW, if you want 4 FREE nights at the Binions' in downtown- not the main strip (gotta pay $8.83 tax) and get a $50 mastercard after your stay go to www. expedia.com and enter coupon-code "fan50" for feb. 2-6. There are other discounts and dates available. It's BETTER than FREE!!!!!

Mandalay Bay/House of Blues/Live Band Karaoke
Up until recently, at least for the last two years, the show was on. I kept putting off going, but am pleased to say I finally went last September; it was a blast.
I still can't imagine why the House of Blues replaced the show? Obviously, it's always because of "money". But the place was packed, particularly for a Monday night, and people waited on line to get in.
Perhaps you're right that the band was making unreasonable demands? That being the case, I'm sure they're looking for work now and some other venue will eventually pick them up (I hope)
The only Live Band karaoke I know of in Florida is in Jacksonville. Is anyone aware of any show closer than that to FT Laud?
We see once again, that Imperial Palace gets mixed reviews. And the way JR describes Harrah's, it's not for me. I don't get even a tinge of "stage fright" but I don't need to be sitting under spotlights all evening. I still look forward to going back to the Havana Cigar Club.

Any updates form LV?
Where did you spend the day yesterday watching the game?
Hope you don't miss the karaoke, food and drink at Ellis Island - you won't be sorry
It now looks like I'm going to the Caribbean before returning to LV, but I should be back by the spring

Las Vegas was a blast. Unfortunately most of the time was spent working and or meeting customers BREAKFAST LUNCH DINNER !!
The only Karaoke I saw was at O'Sheas Casino on the strip.
I really didn't leave any time to actually participate
Next time !!!!
I watched the SUPERBOWL in a restaurant Lounge in the Venetian Hotel - It had to be a 20ft HD screen ........INCREDIBLE !

OKay
Any new input on good Vegas karaoke venues? I'll be heading back in late April and wouldn't mind trying someplace new.
Oh, I forgot to mention in any current posts regarding Vegas... there was a new Karaoke venue with private rooms to rent that opened last September. We have been told about this type of setup by Jian, I believe, and it is common in Asia.
Also going to the Dominican Republic in March. Anyone know of a good karaoke venue around Santa Domingo?
