I'm getting two Shure Wireless mics when the taxes come back. A few months ago I went to a KJ's show, and he was running four. (and bose pole tower speakers and a Mackie mixing amp.... I left drool all over the floor). Anyway, he was using some sort of shelf system to organise his mics. It was very cool... elevating the wireless bases and had a nice wire management system too. I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find this shelf system. It looked Shure specific, but I can't seem to find it on Shure's web site. You would think that web stores would list this as an optional accessory along with cables! Anywho, if anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be cool. |

Actually, that's not it. I'm not talking about organising the microphones, I've got that coverd with desktop mic stands. I have two small desktop stands, and a regular mic stand. I'm talking about the wireless bass units themselves. Its a "shelf" organizer specifically for wireless base units. |

One show I used to frequent, the kj had six microphones, and she had the mics stored in a wooden holder with round holes... big enough for the mics to drop in, but the mesh head would hold them. She didn't DROP them in... but they held them just right. In her rig, she had the three dual wireless machines mounted as 1 space holders, with 1 space as an airflow. As her crown amp tended to get hot, she had a couple of case fans moving air in it. This served to keep everything hunkey dorey all night. |

DO you have a Rack UNIT? which one ? I use an am 825 acesonic mixer amp. I use a BBE sonic maximizer for quick adjustments to the music during a performance. I'm going to be using 2 Shure wireless (just ordered em today!) PG4/ PG58. I use a second amp and floor monitors for the singers. For my mains I use the ol' Yamaha 15" traps... they are complete work horses. |

Koyote, I have three wireless mic receivers as well as a mixer that they all converge into. When I use my small rig, the Fender Passport (and don't have my mixing board) I need something that can stand right by the Fender to plug everything in from. For that purpose I use a CHROME rack that I got from a store like "Bed Bath & Beyond". It is designed to hold/mount 3 baskets. It weighs but a couple of pounds. It is 31" high. It is 11" wide and 8" deep. It is important to note that in order to make this work I inverted the baskets, tying them down with wire to the rack. So... I ended up with three shelves, each of which can accommodate 2 receivers. I had as many as 3 receivers and my mixer on the rack. When my wife is up and around later today, I'll have her take a picture of it and forward it. One last important point which you won't see in the picture. When I use the rack I attach a surge strip to it and plug all of my transformers into that strip before I leave for my show. That way, when I get to the show I just have to plug the strip in and from the strip I plug in the transformers for each receiver. As for those of you who ARE actually looking for an "expanded" mic mounts... Sam Ash offers this: It will handle up to six mics.
