Hey ladies and gentle people, I am using cakewalk sonar 7 pro audio to lay down my vocal tracks. I was wondering does anyone that uses pro audio software know of any useful plug-ins to aid me in my quest for studio quality recordings. Something that is really niggling me is getting the balance between vocal and music right, any tips you are more than welcome to share, plz let me know. Thanks Ross.

I would use some compression on the vocal. Remember the music that is use in the recording is already compressed, so the voc need to be compressed to 'fit in'. Don't ask me at what setting it is done, just play around with it and listen to the mix. :D

The use of some kind of reverb will help get the voc fit into the music.

I am assuming you record the voc in a separate track.
