Hello Jack, I am interested in subscriptions myself, although I haven't taken the plunge yet. When I am looking for the latest songs I go to www.selectatrack.com (Newer, more obscure songs, about $3 each) or www.buykaraokedownloads.com. (Fair selection, subscriptions available for new releases, and downloads average $1.50 each). I have considered a subscription at buykaraokedownloads and even through top hits monthly (@ AceKaraoke for $200/year per series). Where is the best place and price to get subscriptions in your experience? I am also thinking about becoming a sound choice member to get a free custom disc and 10% off all purchases. That could quickly pay for itself. |

I get Sunfly Hits and Most Wanted each month delivered from Scotland to Austin, TX (takes 2-3 weeks though). I used to get Chartbuster country monthly but switched to getting the PHM trio although I may be switching back. I also sub to the Sound Choice spotlight as they sporadically come out. I go directly to sbikaraoke rather than selectatrack so I don't pay VAT or have a minimum 3 song order. Whichever sub you choose there will always be some songs that come out on another label that isn't downloadable and you already have a good chunk of the other songs! As for the sound choice membership, a good way to get a discount custom disc, but other than that you can get the spotlights cheaper online. Save a few bucks more by buying the mortar and using the coupons to get new spotlights in chunks of three. For being instantly up to date I'm finding SBI is very good at releasing new tracks and I can buy and download at the venues that have internet. I'm considering a 3G usb modem and data plan but that's as much as 3-4 discs just in monthly fees! I'm encouraging my venues to put in an access point since they already have internet for the touch tunes jukebox. - Jonn |

Are the LATEST releases for personal useor for hosting a show? Reason I ask is be careful before signing any long term subscribtions I've found that many NEW releases don't get sung ...BUT DEPENDS ON YOUR VENUE AND CROWD |

Both SBI and Buykaraokedownloads have been really good lately in getting the newest stuff up for individual download as fast as disc monthlies. And sometimes faster. It's the way I go these days because even in my rather forward thinking room I need only one or two specific new songs a month. "Just Dance" (Lady Ga Ga) was sung three times last night BTW. As soon as the ladies found out I had it they all wanted to give it a shot. So at least in my case it's important to stay current. classickaraoke @ Fri Feb 20, 2009 12:36 pm wrote: I go directly to sbikaraoke rather than selectatrack so I don't pay VAT or have a minimum 3 song order.
- Jonn I didn't know that! I've always used Selectatrack for those brands. Thanks Jonn!! |
