Hello,

I am looking for a download or cdg with the song "In Spite Of Ourselves" by John Prine w/ Iris Dement.

Does anyone know if it is available anywhere? I have looked at selectatrack and buykaraokedownloads with no luck so far.

Thanks in advance for your help!

(Sorry for the double post - my connection is flaky this morning.)

I have John Prine tunes but not that one - I know of the song and would love it if it came out. I'll keep my eyes open. I don't have a database of Canadian stuff - did you try that?

I had a request for that song for a wedding and I couldn't find it. The bride had a word she wrote for the song so I ended up taking it through vocal remover, not a very good job but did the job, and played while they sang off their lyric sheet. It worked out well. Good luck with the search.

It was actually my wedding song as well. We didn't sing it, we just played the original song at our wedding.

And did the DJ at your wedding having an original, paid for copy of the track?

And was he/she a member of ASCAP/BMI/RIAA? Did you even bother to check?

And did you check his union card? How about the card of the photographer, as well?

And do you really want a legal copy of that John Prine song... because there are still plenty of unanswered questions about some of those download sites. Simply because they exist doesn't make them legal. Particularly if you're format shifting. That has been declared legal yet, has it?

Well, the DJ didn't ask me if the dongle at sweetwater would allow them to dupe a security USB flash drive, if that's what you mean.

Weddings are not subject to the fees, as they're a private event.
