My name is Jay. I host karaoke in Hudson, NH at a Chinese restaurant. I go by "K-Jay" at my shows (my name is Jay, and I'm a KJ, so I combined them.) I've been learning and working with a friend's equipment for close to 3 years now and in the process of building my own song library.
I have around 300 dics as of now and I also have the MusicBookDeluxe software, which IMO is THE BEST karaoke songbook software on the market. Once my library is large enough, I'll be investing in equipment of my own, including a laptop and karaoke software. Until then, I'm paying rent on my friend's equipment when I do shows.
Some of my trademarks are the hats I wear (I'm a fedora guy), and my loud voice. A few of my signature songs include "White and Nerdy", "Come Together", "I Am The Walrus" and "I'm a Believer" in the style of Smashmouth.
I've been looking for a karaoke forum for awhile now. Glad to have stumbled on this one. You'll probably hear from me quite a bit.
