I was going to copy my cdg discs so I could use the copy and protect the original. Is there a certain program to use when copying a cdg disc. I had my son try one while I'm at work and he said it it wouldn"t work in my machine. His computer is a dell xps desktop set up pretty good for gaming. Is this a drive issue or do I need a program to copy with.Sorry about all the questions just trying to get this stuff together. Also is ripping the same as copying? |

I use PowerKaraoke to copy my CD+G discs. First, I believe you need to have a burner and reader of CD to be CD+G compatible. There are ways to get around it using software but it's much easier to get a compatible drives. You can check on software company's web site for compatible drives. Secondly, ripping is one half of copying. If you are taking the CD+G in to digital format, that's ripping. If you are taking the digital format to a disc, it's called burning. If you rip then burn, it's called copying. |

CloneCD works with almost every cd burner I have used it on...just make sure not to copy or burn above 2x or the graphics will come up like crap |

I just use the free Nero that came with my LG dual layer DVD burner. Just click on the Advanced button, then check the "Read All Sub-Channel Data" box. Works like a champ. I stil have Clone CD, and Plextools, that I used to use, and sometimes still do with my plextor drive. Use to love it, but it sucks. Super finacky on which brands of media work with it, and a lot of failures. Felix the KJ |
