Joe C. started a recent thread entitled "Just Goes to Show," and Ripman8 just started a thread entitled "Business Cards." In Joe's thread, he mentioned something about not seeing a Company's name listed in their Karaoke Books, and in Ripman8's thread, he asks if you have Business Cards, and how do you circulate them.

For the most part, I go out to Karaoke shows on a lot of my free nights, but I also host an occassional Karaoke show (under 10 during the year, which include an occasional fill-in). I have my own Business Cards made up (which I have passed out to prospective clients interested in hiring me for my service). On them, they say "Karaoke With Cueball" (along with contact information). I don't consider myself to be a "Company" (mainly because I don't do this for a living). The line above is just a simple statement/sentence/phrase that I coined for my business cards. It's also what I write on the "SUBJECT LINE" of e-mails when I send them out to others, announcing a show that I might be doing (when I send out announcements about other KJ's shows, I put "News from Cueball" in the "SUBJECT LINE").

If I were to have to give myself a "Company/Business" name, it would probably end up being "Cueball's Karaoke" for the obvious reasons. Those who know me at Karaoke, know me as "Cueball" (my real name is Steven). Cueball is a nickname that was given to me at my job, years before I ever even knew what Karaoke was (I graduated from "Wiggie" (when I used to wear a hairpiece) and "Grasshopper" (when I stopped wearing them)). "Cueball" is something that I just grew into and it just seems to fit my personna when I go out (plus it's easier to remember (if you've ever met me in person, you'd know why, and agree)).

So, what's your "Company/Business" name, and how/why did you come about choosing that?

Mine is Kool Breeze Karaoke. The name is actually paying homage to a DJ business that my two cousins had many many years ago. The other reason is because I am pretty laid back when it comes to most things and tend to sway with the breezes of change.
I have additional residences in Florida and figured the name would also help fit in there if I decide to do some shows while I am in the area.
Already had offers this past weekend to do two shows when I am in the area the next time.
So hopefully, the name will just roll of people's tongues and be memorable.

My last name is Wile. Ever since I was a little kid people have called me Wile E. Coyote, after the WB cartoon character.

When I was singing I gave myself the name Koyote (changing the "C" to "K" for karaoke of course), as my first name... Dave... is pretty common.

Of course, the logical motto for that is, "howling good times".

Thus, I am the Karaoke Koyote, Good music, good friends, howling good times. :D

Danny G's Karaoke

Don't really know other than I wanted something that was personable and it is close to my real name.

Serenity Now Karaoke. Got the name from an episode of Seinfeld. Frank Castanza was given it to say, (by his shrink), whenever he was frustrated, he would yell SERENITY NOW!!!!! I worked all my life in either physically hard jobs, or later in VERY stressful jobs. Now that I'm semi-retired, I decided to be a karaoke host, and thought the name could work for a different reason. I figured that after all of the people that are STILL in the ratrace , they can come to my show, and think SERENITY NOW! Not to mention that for ME it IS SERENITY NOW. That's the type of show I'm looking to project, relaxing, laid back, enjoyable family type show. EVERYONE WELCOME.

Cabaret Karaoke

Cabaret in itself denotes song dance & comedy in that order. Our main format is karaoke but the theme can be modified into a full party mode at a moments notice. The ratio of karaoke to dance is determined by the needs of the crowd. We can provide a full service with any party theme or provide entertainment. For all your party needs please google cabaret karaoke

The name chosen should be original yet something that many will use as a key word in the search engines. A Myspace and/or a web site whether basic or elaborate should be established with that name.

Like most of the others here, it came from a nickname. "Larry" is boring, so wanted something a little bit different. Started going by "MrD" when we'd go out singing, which is short for my msn handle. When I decided to go 'business', it was an easy choice. Although if I had to do it again, I would've went a little different route. I hate saying I'm MrD from MrD's Entertainment....MrD

Mine is Lone Wolf Karaoke.

Lone Wolf is the CB handle I started using in 1970 when the CB craze was all the rage and it has just stuck with me all these years even though I don't do much CBing much anymore as I'm now a Ham.

Well it was supposed to be "In Your Face Karaoke." But the lady who made the signs for the bar, after witnessing it for the first time, named it "Extreme In Your Face Karaoke" and that's kinda stuck.

My CB handle was "Backtalker"... given to me, of course, by my husband. But could never be converted to a business name, like yours. We had a pretty nice base set up with a linear and a cool power/echo mic... and so dominating the airwaves was a fun little game. (hence the name... I loved to play on that thing and mess with the ornery truck drivers... )

Gosh, haven't had a CB hooked up in quite a few years. (cell phones=much handier)

Ok, I'll be done hi-jacking now... just wanted to answer his post:)

My paternal grandfather came from Russia, with a name that translated from their alphabet to ours as Tzartruz, or something like that. It was "Americanized" to the French sounding Chartreuse.

Most of my family members legally changed their names to ones that were easier to live with. Anything from Travis, to Walters, to Dinallo ( we are a very bixed bunch, nationally speaking), and more. Think about a guy in school with last name of Chartreuse....But, we kept it as we got it......

Anyway, a name as weird and memorable as mine shouldn't be wasted: Joe Chartreuse Karaoke & Entertainment it is....

Company name is TEN 13 Entertainment. I don't have a website or anything set up yet. Still trying to find another weekly karaoke gig, but I haven't had alot of time to look.

The name comes from a birthday Oct. 13. I intro myself as DJ Scotty Mo with TEN 13 Entertainment. Scotty Mo comes from of course my first name being Scott and the first two letters of my last name. With being a DJ and karaoke host I picked Entertainment as to not get stuck in one catagory. I provide Entertainment for weddings, private parties and bars. So there ya go.

My company name, Master Blaster Karaoke, just came to me one day when I was listening to some Stevie Wonder music (the song "Master Blaster-Jammin"). I thought it sounded cool.

It never occurred to me that people would associate that name with the characters from "Mad Max-Beyond Thunderdome". I keep having to explain that the company is not named after a giant retarded guy and a midget.

The creator of the x-files chris carter, was also born on oct 13th. His production company is called 1013, and there are frequent references to it in the show...
