Love the pic, Ollie, can you post one or two that show the mountains, or can you see the Rockies from Greeley, I forget?

These I just took from a 12th story window. There is the typical haze or smog along the front range. I left these in full res. To get an idea the distance to the top peak is at least 100 miles. The distance to the purple foot hills is about 50 miles. look at mount 2 first.

Very cool pics Ollie, I enjoy when you share photos of Greeley.
Funny, it looks a bit similar to here in the Willamette Valley. I could never move away and live where there weren't lots of trees and mountains around.

Charmin Greeley is an example of thousands of little clean towns in this great nation. There is not a drug dealer or kidnapper on every corner like the media wants you to believe. Greeley is still Colorado the way it was fifty years ago. I can not say the same for the front range with all the ???? People dont come here because there is nothing to do as they say. Sometimes doing nothing and slowing down to smell the roses is the best holidays one can have. I can invite anybody here on this forum and treat them like family and they will have friends in a few days. We take care of our own and all here are welcome to Greeley Colorado. This is not spam to make a buck or for any scheme. It is a simple invitation to visit just one of those thousand little towns that have their own flavor and personality. With the economy I would suggest taking vacations in smaller less expensive towns, smell the roses and get aquainted with America again.

You know Ollie, I've told ya before.... when I do get my chance to take my karaoke road trip, you are one of my very first stops. I'd love to come visit a couple days. And your town looks like just the kind of place I'd feel at home in.

As I said once before, I lived in the Big Thompson Canyon during the early 70's. Worked in Greeley doing constuction, also in Loveland, and in Estes Park. I lived there for one summer, and winter, then left in spring to explore the rest of the country. Had some great times, met some great people, and have memories that will last my lifetime. I've been all around this country, and Colorado is a hard act to follow, that's for sure.
Rosario
Ps. The first time I EVER say a REAL mountain was when I came there, a young guy from New Orleans. (below sea level).

I have lived back east now since 2000, without mountains, without the high desert country I love, and most of all without western people which are the best on earth. I am fixing to change that this year. I haven’t decided if it’s going to be Eastern Oregon, Colorado or Idaho, but somewhere that all of the above are in abundance. If all my children want to stay back here, that's there business, but I am hearing a voice very strongly that is saying, "Go West Young Woman, Go West" Okay, so the young part is a bit of a stretch...... Just bought this 03 Chevy S10 on the 27th of last month. It gets 23 mpg on the highway. It is what I will be traveling in. It has a topper that wasn't on it when the pics were taken. A lot better than my old Pontiac for hauling karaoke equipment, now if I just had a reason to load it up. haha

Rose turn the air filter lid over to let in more air. It is illegal but you will get even better mileage. Thats a nice lil pickup tho and dont let any of the fluids get too low.

I’m definitely going to make it to Oregon, at least for a visit. All of my siblings, with the exception of a sister in Bakersfield live in the Willamette Valley. I already intended to look you up, Odie, but thanks for the invite. As to my singing, be careful what you wish for. I’m not a great singer, but what I lack in talent I like to think I make up for in enthusiasm. Most people seem to find it tolerable, at least I don’t get any complaints.
Thanks for the tip on improving gas mileage on my truck Ollie, I will certainly give it a try.

I've been all around this great country, and love the mountains of Colorado, and the mountains of Oregon (along with the coast)...

Oh great, that'd be cool Matt. We'll get Charmin, Kurt and Flipper in on this too. Maybe Ollie can make it. Sounds like fun!

Yay...
Definately contact me & Odie. (either one will do, we can holler down the road to get the other's attention, literally)
Kurt has been trying to plan a big NW get together ( dunno what's taking the guy so dang long to get it all together, Lol)... it would be cool if it could be when Matt and Ruthie and Rose are here. And somebody can swing through Greeley and toss Ollie in back of their truck and bring him along as well.

Ohhh.... wouldn't a get-together at the coast be fun? We can karaoke, gamble, and hit the dunes all in the same weekend.
(and i'm totally inviting all of us along on Matt & Ruthie's trip to the coast)
