I see a 17"LCD Flat Screen monitor for $79.99 and Kcom has the stand on sale for $68..SO NOW might be the time for me to go for it ~~

I would THINK that any LCD is good for karaoke spec wise ????
It has VGA inputs and VESA mounts ??

Is there anything else I would need to be aware of ?

If you are happy to run VGA (I only say this because cables can get pricey if you are looking for a distance) then that will suffice.

It's low qual graphics we use anyhow :)

I would prefer to use s video or other --But finding a monitor that accepts would cost more than the $23 15ft cable I saw ??

Fair play then. But how much are you seeing VGA cables of similar lengths for?

I'm running 2 lcd monitors, 1 regular and 1 hdtv, I think you should go for it, looks like a good price to me. Are you getting the monitor locally, if not, make sure you're not losing money on shipping costs. Lcd monitors are pretty cheap now, and can usually be found locally.

What is the downside of a WIDE SCREEN flat panel ?

It just gets a little tricky when you have both standard screen and wide screen monitors in the same mix since the resolutions are different.

For example, if your laptop is standard, and the tv (or lcd) is widescreen only, then you will have to fiddle with your resolution settings on the main and extended screens to get them both to look right.

None since you can set the resolutions differently and the video will scale them appropriately. The only potential hassle might be if your software doesn't support the resolutions. But I have to admit it would be bizarre if that occurred given the level of driver support now.

I second that. Plus lifetime warranty on all cables.
