Post subject: | My Favorite Mic right now |
My Sennheiser 816s. It brightens up my deep male voice and gives my higher range clarity. It really makes me sound great. It's not even an expensive mic either. It's a sensitive, high gain mic and I like that it has an on off switch. All of a sudden it's the mic I reach for more and more. Second is my Sennheiser e835. Also sensitive, high gain and good clarity. No on off switch which I prefer, but not a deal killer. I'm finding myself using wired mics more right now because my wireless mics aren't as good. I have a large diaphragm studio condenser mic, GXL2400. It sounds amazing through headphones for recording, but for live performance it is VERY prone to feedback and it's shape isn't very good for holding in your hand. This is what I'm going to make my recordings with. Makes sense I guess. I'm experimenting with my cheapo Samson 5H wireless mic. It is a VERY high gain mic and sensitive, but I used it for a seminar for the presenter and it was picking up some sort of RF noise whenever he stepped in a certain area of the room. I was embarrassed. I've tried rehearsing with it and it is going to take some getting used to. I still like my Nady SP-1, but the Sennheiser 816s has it beat. |
