I am looking to buy "Music of the Night"-Phantom of the Opera.
This must be the version from the "Highlights" disk as the other versions have many lyric and music differences.

Does anyone know where I can buy this exact version?
Any help is appreciated.

Pocket Songs usually does very good work with Broadway tunes.

You could try Priddis Pro Sound PR1114. However, and believe it or not, Music Maestro did a dam good job with it on MMBH-1 "Broadway To Hollywood". This is the version that I use- if you can still find it.

If you 'must have' that particular version, and if you can't find it anywhere as a karaoke or backing track, I would suggest contacting one of the professional backing track producers and have a custom track made.

If you don't need to have this as a karaoke track (ie. with the lyrics embedded and displayed), you could send an mp3 of the original to Jeff Daniels and request a quote for custom backing track. Here's his contact page:

Note, Jeff does not produce karaoke tracks, only professional quality backing tracks (ie. no lyrics embedded)

WOW !! Murrlyn

From across the other side of the world you've just taken me back in time some 20 YEARS !!

When you mentioned JEFF DANIELS I wondered if it was the same guy who used to do my backing tracks when I was a singer/guitarist doing the pubs and clubs all them years back. And yes it is.

In those days we used to use cassette tapes for the backing as mp3's were not around then. Still vivid in my mind is how I had to retune the guitar to the pitch of the tape player later on in the evening to account for it warming up.

OH HAPPY DAYS !

I can wholeheartedly endorse Jeff's work - he's an excellent musician and now I think of it I actually still use some of his recordings (Radio GA GA, I Want To Break Free)

That's cool! I reckon if Jeff were to create karaoke tracks, he'd just blow SC out of the water!
