Need help! Recently bought a RSQ MV333 karaoke machine in used condition. Works great except that it will not play some copied discs. The copied discs play just fine in other machines, just not in mine. I have found nothing in the manual about this problem. The display on the MV 333 reads "NO DISC".

Those players were pretty hit & miss about playing burns. I have the single tray model that doesn't play burns very well either.

My burns used to play on the RSQ, or JVC at the show I go to, but lately, none do...none of my newer burns. My friends do play though. Then I realized the burns that DO play were burned on a Plextor. The Plextor burned out (no pun intended) and I got an HP. The burns from the HP will not read on the RSQ/JVC, but are fine on any other player, including my cheap VOCOPro and disc player in the laptop. The KJ is getting a different machine because of the glitch.

Just a general tip on burning CDs or DVDs. If you're having problems try burning at a slower speed to see if that helps. Try 4x. Sometimes it's also the type of media. If burning slower dosn't help try a different brand blank disc.

I burn on an HP drive at 1x on PowerKaraoke CDG Burner, and almost never have trouble. I go to many, many different shows and my disks play on many players.

Thanks Doc, but the problem lies with the RSQ. As Lonman stated, the machines are hit and miss with burns. I thought it was burn speed or the brand of discs used also, but there is no problem with any other machine. I was just on the phone with a karaoke friend. He uses the same program as I, except, he uses a Plextor and has no problem, just as my older Plextor burns have no problem. Seems the RSQ likes the Plextor Burns, but not the HP burns. I'm going to get an external Plextor just in case I run into an RSQ/JVC at another show! So, tonight, I have to bring the original discs with my newer stuff on them. :(

Be careful that you check the spec on the Plextor. If it is too new, it may not burn CDGs at all!

I had to purchase an External Plextor DVD Burner to rip CD+Gs for my KJ app. I ended up purchasing an older model off craigslist because it supported CD+G burning. I haven't needed to burn any CD+Gs but I might at some point.
