http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bargain-Ex-Displa ... 240%3A1318 As far as i can tell these single speakers are 4ohm so would it mean that this combo whould be 2ohm.ive seen a few amps struggle with 2ohm so not sure they would be ok for my behringer EP2500. Sorry forgot to ask are they any good and how would them compare to my speakers. more the top speakers as i dont have bass ones at the min. http://www.prosound-dj.com/pro15-speaker-p-685.html They are also a bit lighter than my current speakers too. |

Don't really know anything about those speakers, but I use my EP2500 with a 2ohm load regularly with no problems. |

Sorry, forgot to add that the 2ohm load is PER SIDE, not bridged. If each of those speakers is 4ohms, two per side with the 2500 should work, as long as you don't push it TOO hard. I wouldn't even think about trying it bridged, though. |

Hi mate. According to this http://avdeal.nl/productinfo/Peavey/PRO ... o_SUB.pdf/ The total load is 4 Ohms per side due to the design of the crossover in the sub (they say). Price wise I can't find a better deal anywhere else. Looks good to me but I can't say what they'll sound like 
Make sure you get the poles and cables like this kit http://www.stagebeat.co.uk/P/101395/PEA ... 0w+PACKAGE Course you'll need 2 more speakon cables for the amp to sub cabs. |

cheers guys for the help. gung you say needing another cable from sub to amp dont these just need one cable to the amp then a small one from the main speaker to the sub or vice-versa |

Yeah the kit comes with the short 2 meter linking cables from the sub outputs to the top boxes but your gonna want another longer pair for the amp to subs. This is the stereo configuration. |

 thats what the wife says but im not really sure i can afford these ,thats why i want to be dead sure , I know there are the subs but need to know if the tops would be a marked improvement from my current speakers when used on there own.
the watts say so but watts are not everything. this spending all relys on then selling the old gear afterwards .
but just want to get it somewhere near right ,and amonth down the line think i wish I hadnt got this or that or I should of got that

Unfortunately the watts tell you nothing about the sound. Shame you can't listen to 'em first 
Generally Peavey gear is ok. You might be able to improve your current sound if you could analyse where it's frequency response is weak (as discussed previously re. driverack). I hope you have a strong back too !
All this extra gear strains the back...heheh Tough call. |

well as for the mixer amp and so on they will be going in the wheeled 16u rack with front and back for tables so wont need my current stand and if i was to get these speakers and use as i do now without a sub they are lighter than i have now ,current ones are 31kg quite heavy. |

well up to last week i had kam 1940 twin uhf mics and vocopro 5800uhf 4 mic system but last week i got to corded shure sm58 to have the corded option ,to be honest with all the hype about the shures ive not noticed that much differance ,but dont know if thats to do with the over all setup thats why i was wondering if my old speakers just dont give the detail needed for the vocal |

The Shures are the better by far but as you say it could be down to your speakers/venue limitations. A super hypercardoid mic like the Sennheiser E845 has better rejection off the sides and rear for feedback rejection dunno if one of those would help. Letting your punters stroll around in front and about the speakers with radio mics is a nightmare which is why I went to corded mics. |

well i i put in the driverack post ,my main gig is really hard work set up wise big enough room but all set out wrong and hardly any experanced singers .keep telling them every week put the mic closer to your mouth ,put it infront not to the side and so on ,but the good thing is that they dont notice much when trying to set up new gear .

well that may be an end to the speaker idea .
the dryer just blew up so back to do i get a the Driverack and will it help at all along with the 2 dbx 266xl compressors i just got or a 31 band eq and dump the kam 15 band eq or any other suggestions welcome. |

There is the learning curve but I'd get the Driverack. The RTA and onboard graphic eq will definitely help. Tune the gear in the garden first with no obstructions between the cab(on a pole) and mic and not at the gig. That'll give you a starting flat response setup with no inherent peaks to trigger feedback. Save that curve as your 'starting point' for any future setups. You could do it individually for each cab and then mark which is left/right. Reflections, obstructions etc at the venue environment will require modifications to that basic/flat setup. Then a unique setup for that venue can be stored for future use. Loud pink noise can irritate
