I finally got around to fixing my 15" lcd TV I first used as a monitor. It took a $2 electrolytic capacitor. Now to get it back together. I use this tv now for DTV. BTW dont buy Polaroid lcd's.
Then I got a wild hair and bought this to repair. The power supply is out I think and they cost 150-200 dollars if I cant fix it.

FINALLY! Someone who gets it. I believe anyone in this biz should, at the VERY LEAST, take some sort of electronic repair course. It will pay for itself a hundred times over!
I'm a tech AND an EE, and it has saved me a fortune. Note the above- a $2 cap saved a TV, and probably took around ten minutes to do.
