I know this is another speaker that has probably already been covered many times in this forum, however I just came on board and am not aware of the posts. Any comments would be helpful from those who have a set of these. I plan on teaming them up with the Yamaha emx5016 cf powered mixder. It puts out 325 watts @ 8 ohms according to Yamaha and that would be a perfect power match for the c300z according to Mackie. I just want to know if they sound as good as their powered brothers (the srm 450). I would like to know how well they hold up. Anxious to hear the replies. You can also send me an e mail direct to jtiki3174@gmail.com Thanks! |

They are still a very good sounding speaker but do not sound quite as good as their powered counterpart due to the fact their is no active crossover or separate amps driving each driver inside. The Yamaha mixer should drive those just fine, maybe a tad underpowered as the 300z should really be pushed with 500 watts, but with the active sub you were asking about in the other thread, it will be a good balance. |
