This has been covered in numerous posts previously. In the future, please search prior to creating a new thread.

Get a very cheap adapter from any home supply store or wal-mart. The kind that take your 3 plug AC adapter and turn it into 2 plugs to plug into the wall. They take out the ground. They cost about $1 each.

Put this on your laptop power cord and you should fix the problem.

What's the big deal with another thread on this? You don't have to answer it Mich. But since you brought it up, how do you search for a particular subject?

On the left side, in the black "Member Area" section, you choose search.

You can search for keyword(s) or author. When you put in your search term(s), you go down to the bottom of the page and click "search".

It searches both in subject line and throughout the text. It will highlight all matching terms.

If you can't find the power cord adapter you can always get an inline filter from the laptop to the amp source.
http://www.zzounds.com/item--EBTHE2PKG - this one I know works
http://www.zzounds.com/item--BEHHD400 - cheap knockoff of above, don't know quality or results.

The Euro term is "Ground earth isolator"....it runs between laptop and mixer.
On another subject I feel Newbies shouldn't be preached to. They asked us for help. They didnt know the subject had been covered.

No moreso than those who get angry at the blatant selling of cell phones and other crap on this forum.

I guess I am the only one who gets tired of seeing the same old posts over and over again by those that don't bother to research their own info first. Those who want instant answers and don't want to be bothered with research.

Call me old fashioned.

Someone using this forum to sell non karaoke stuff, maybe even karaoke stuff is different than a newbie asking for help. Besides, if you see the title and it is something that will make you roll your eyes and say "not again". Just skip over it. This is a great forum and before I stumbled onto it, learning about the karaoke business and "real" audio equipment was a crapshoot at best. I plan on continuing to learn from everyone.

IMHO What difference does it make how many times its been covered? Just because you've seen it a thousand times, doesnt mean someone else has seen it even once. Certainly not a newb.

Plus, if they're a newb, they probably didn't know to search first anyway.

as you can see, someone asked how to search for a topic...that would indicate that it is not exactly easy to find. Actually I take back what I initially said to you, cos I have NEVER seen a mod here behave in such an ignorant way to a newbie

That's what I did. Cut off the moulded plug and rewire without the ground wire. Just make sure the earth is cut well back and insulated if possible. Works perfectly.
