You can buy the MP3+G of all the Sunfly at tricerasoft.com. |

I googled when I noticed they were gone last month and found a lawsuit against them starting in February. The company suing was Tennessee Productions which I believe is Chartbuster. |

My problem with Selectatrack is you can't. They give you a link and don't tell you manufacturer. |

SF is Sunfly, LG is Legends, SB is SBI, ZM is Zoom, etc....Right next to each & every song before the listen button. They have a key to each 2 letter code at the bottom of each page. |

Is that just for the MP3 downloads that you don't get the manufacturer? I know you get to select from many manufacturers on each song if you have a custom CDG done--plus sample the snippets. I tried them for the first time last month and couldn't believe my disc came in less than a week. So do any of you higher ups know if I am correct in thinking that a Chartbuster lawsuit is behind the demise of MyCDG? The other strange thing is if you type in their web address it goes to SingSnap instead. |

I have been using them for about a year now & every disc is in cdg format. If you can find the link to the lawsuit you have found, that would be great. I haven't been able to find it. But it wouldn't surprise me. |

http://dockets.justia.com/docket/court- ... _id-44000/ Had to find it by googling the parent co. Eatsleep Music. I couldn't find it under mycdg, either. But this is just a link to some links and it looks a bit daunting to get to--must be why I hadn't read it in the first place. But you can see it was filed in Feb of 09 which is around when the site disappeared. |

Looks like all of Eat Sleep Music sites are directed elsewhere. ShopKaraoke - which I had an affiliate status (got a commission on any disc sold through the link on my page) is no longer there either, takes you to karaokeusa site. Hadn't checked it since the end of Jan which was up & running then. |

http://www.rfcexpress.com/lawsuit.asp?id=41959 Here's another but again with no details. It does say EMI Music which includes Virgin and many others vs. EatSleep Music for copywright infringement filed Nov of 08. |

First I'd like to say that I'm NOT trying to stir up a hornets nest, but just asking some questions. How can we be legal if we have bought from these sites that are selling custom discs, THEN we find out that THEY were not legal? Does that put us in the same boat as someone who bought a loaded harddrive (legally speaking)? Does it mean that we shouldn't buy CUSTOM discs in fear that 6 months from now we'll find out that the company we thought was ok to buy from was selling PIRATED discs? In my opinion, I'm so confused about this WHOLE "legal" issue, I don't know what is right, and what is wrong. Just when you think you've got it figured out, ANOTHER monkey wrench gets thrown into the mix. Any thoughts? Srnitynow |

I just can not get into this download custom disc stuff. I always think it is illegal activity. I may be wrong but that has been my perception, also I was told by someone at a company I used to buy from that there was a lot of illegal downloading of karaoke online, and basically there are not any shortcuts from just buying your disc. |

If they are illegal, they do it in a funny way. Most of their tracks are poor quality. I bought a couple there and got MM and Backstage. |

Exactly, one that is definitely out of businiess & one that was never for sure to begin with. Who is the royalties being paid to? |

If they pay their statutory royalties to the songwriter and/or artist then they have some grounds to operate. My assumption was that since they are based in the US, they are probably legal because ASCAP, BMI, and RIAA don't usually stand for that type of thing. A site like karaoke-singles.com is a different story. They are UK-based, and offer SC and CB of every song. That is no doubt illegal. This one could be legal. |
