I have finally located the source of the moderate equipment hum at one of my venues.... it is the TVs, particularly the plasma they have. The hum went away as soon as I disconnected the RCA cables. The cables are good, with the long distance run being quad shield RG6. So, any kind of noise suppressor suggestions for RCA video connections? Jonn |

Well you could use something like this: http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/3 ... =220405892 Connected to the end of the rca cable closest to your source. Interesting situation to have a video source introducing an ground loop that affects the audio. Obviously the audio and video in your player share the same ground (I assume you're not connecting audio RCA cables to the TV's). Isolate the TV's ground from your equipment's ground and the loop should go away. |

Jonn Try disconnecting the satellite/cable connection from the TV. That is usually the source of the problem. |

The video and audio a related because they are switched using the same mixer (dare I say the V name and induce gasps?). Both TVs are connected via Ch3 to individual el-cheapo D*TV receivers. Since the choke/filters suggested are out of stock I will try disconnecting the sat boxes this weekend (wouldn't be surprised if the dish itself wasn't properly grounded). Thanks, Jonn |
