As some of you know, I've been looking for a decent player for a few months. I've almost bought several older Pioneer and JVC laser disc/karaoke machines off of ebay but one thing or another happened. I was tempted to get the Acesonic, but just wasn't 100% comfortable about the quality. I REALLY don't want to spend $300 or even more and I'm very leery about 10 year old players that could die at any time and then I'm out $100-$150 and back looking for another player.

It's very important that all the functions can be accessed by buttons on the front of the machine. So far none of the remote control units I've tried have worked very well.

So, back to looking for the deal.

What about this RJTech?

RJ Tech: Probably the bottom of the barrel- I got a deal on 2- neither lasted more than a couple of months. Video board crapped out on one, tray on the other. I've seen them for as low as $39

Two suggestions: I spoke of this on another thread. A terrific "no label" single tray is made for Sound Choice- PCX-1000, 2000, or 3000. They run around $170, but have seen them cheaper. VERY durably built. I've had one for 4 years with no problems.

The V2GO can be had for around $120, and has some interesting extras. BTW- it comes out of the Pioneer Factory. It'll play just about anything, and in a pinch it has a USB port on the front panel for MP3s ( not speedy to use, but it works)

The Mixonic works fine, but the switches lack durability.

I've pretty much decided to get the V2go. It looks to be a high quality machine from the pictures. As much as I want one of those old, heavy duty JVC, Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony etc, machines, I just don't trust buying used 10 year old or older electronic devices. I've deliberated over this for months and I think the V2go will satisfy what I want. My cheapo Mixsonic works so-so and it look an awful lot like the RJTech. The buttons on the V2go look solid and they look backlit which is a big plus if that indeed the case.

I received the V2Go, haven't tried it out yet. I'll post my experiences with it within the next couple of days.

I'm looking forward to it. The only issue that I've ever heard about it was load speed, but it seems to do ok for me.
