I am sorry if this has already been asked, but I am running out of time so need quick help if posible. I am very new to all of this, and I am trying out my karaoke set up tomorrow at my niece's birthday party. Everything was going fine, but for some unknown reason now when I play a song (using winamp) the words display window doesn't appear. And I can seem to find it. Can anyone help please?

Surprised you haven't gotten help yet. Holiday weekend I guess. Sorry, I can't help you.

I ended up having to use a different lap top so had to install everything on there so problem was solved, but still curious if anyone else has had the same problem and how it is solved, incase it happens again.

Are you using s-video out or VGA?

Are you getting any video out at all?

Sounds to me like your video card or the connector is bad seeing that it worked OK on the other computer.

Try it again and make sure the connector is plugged in tight or wiggle it around to see if the screen comes on.

Thank you, I did wonder if it might have just been something like that as it worked ok on other one. I have a new laptop coming on Wednesday, solely for karaoke use, so hopefully I won't come across this problem again.
By the way, in answer to "Are you using s-video out or VGA?" I have no idea!! I am just learning as I go along here and don't even know what that means

I guess we assumed you were sending the lyrics screen to another monitor(TV) but maybe you are not, maybe you are just using the screen on your laptop to display the lyrics.
You should have a CDG Plugin icon down on your taskbar while a karaoke file is being played--if it is there but you are still not seeing any lyrics screen then it is most likely being hid behind your winamp screen, in which case you need to go to the options menu in Winamp and uncheck the "Always on top" feature- this will allow the lyrics window to come to the forefront and then while a karaoke file is playing right click on the lyrics screen and check the "always on top" feature of it.

If there is not a CDG Plugin icon in your taskbar while you are playing a karaoke file then you need to reinstall the MP3&g plugin.

Google works wonders for terms you don't understand.
