I just bought the CB Essentials volume 4 for $135 total. I went thru the song list before purchasing and was suprised that I only have maybe 6 or 7 % of the songs already. I thought that was a great deal. The guy is bowing out of karaoke, says he only played them once (thought process makes me question that) so I let him know I may be interested in some of his equipment. He only lives an hour from me.

$135 sound like a bargain? It did to me. I could only find it for about $225 cheapest elsewhere.

Seems like a great deal especiallly if most of it's songs aren't already in your collection.

Maybe I will get some other good deals from him. Buying used now is a buyers market.

Try Karaoke Warehouse http://www.karaokewh.com/item_details.c ... odID=12537

E8 & E9 Combo for $390 (that's $195 each)

You'll find them separate for E9 = $199 and E8 = $220.

Well, I bought the entire CBE Volumes 1-6 in SCDG format for around $120, s/h included recently on Ebay.

They came factory sealed in original cases.

They don't make CBE in SCDG format after volume 6 however, and the CD-Gs of 7-9 are much more expensive.

I use the Karaoke File Converter software from www.kjamp.com to rip SCDGs beautifully. I also have my CAVS player as a backup.

JR, Never EVER EVER suggest I buy anything from that place again. I have an $84 set (actually two) sitting here that won't work and they refuse to refund me money or let me trade in on something else. They can kiss my big what b-hind!

SCDG, does that fit in a CD tray? Great price.

I was going to buy volume 1 for the same price but when I cross referenced it with my libary, I had about 70% of the songs.

For those who may be interested:

Over on ebay someone has Vols 1-4 for sale. Biding is at $400 and he's throwing in a JVC three tray machine and a few other misc. disks. Found it while looking at the Chartbuster listings, the auction ends 6 hrs from now and no one has entered a bid yet.

SCDG (Super-CDG) is a format that will only play in a CAVS player or PC. It is proprietary. They hold between 450 and about 1500 songs on each disc. To my knowledge, they no longer produce SCDG discs.

Basically it is a DVD that the tracks are put on in a special compressed format that under usual circumstances cannot be decrypted or format-shifted.

However, using the Karaoke File Converter software, it can be format-shifted.

Here is an example. This is a seller I have dealt with and trust. If you are patient, you can often get this for $120 with s/h included.

Sorry to hear that ripman. While I have been fortunate enough to not have had any misdealings with them, I don't doubt that there may be others who have their personal issues.

I know that if I feel I'm not getting the proper treatment, and I don't get the expected response from a vendor, my next contact is the original manufacturer.

Have you attempted to address your grievance directly to Chartbuster? I would hope they would want to know if one of their dealers may be misrepresenting them or their product. Chartbuster has a good one-for-one return policy (or at least they did). There may be a shipping issue, but I would convince them to charge that to the dealer.
