Hey folks. I'm a newbie here, so I guess this question has been asked a lot, but my wife has to do a skit for work. They've chosen an old Poison song, "Nuthin But a Good Time". We've rewritten the lyrics and need JUST the music without backup vocals. We've found several versions, ALL conataining the backups, and they are pretty backup heavy. Can anyone help me out. I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!! Wild Starchild |

For this particular use only, I would suggest Medacy's ( also known as "Party Tyme") disc #MKP2-6093-1 The disc is a multiplex ( tracks come with and without vocals). The non vocal, or performance tracks are pretty clean of backups compared to thers in many cases. However, more important: Most decent players come with a vocal partner/ vocal cancel function. Using this in combination with the brand mentioned above should do it for you, as it has more effect on this brand than many others, due to their recording techniques. Also, this is what is sometimes referred to as a "department store brand" in that can be found at places like Walmart, K-Mart, etc.... This particular brand is is probably the best of the lot, IMHO |

Priddis.com sells MP3 downloads of "Performance Tracks" without graphics. Sometimes they have the option of chossing a track with or without background vocals. It looks like they have the song you want listed "without background vocals." Priddis/ProSound puts out a lot of karaoke discs with pretty good sound. Looks like they are heading MP3 download without graphics for performer's backing tracks. For all you legal people, they have the licensing for each song viewable on the site. |

I don't know if they are still making karaoke discs but they are making backing tracks for singers (no graphics) that can be either downloaded in MP3 form or ordered on a custom CD. Many of the selections have the option for backing vocals or no backing vocals. An MP3 costs $1.39. I think they might also do special tracks by request but don't know for how much. It IS Priddis/ProSound with the familar singers logo, etc. |
