For the price it is a great deal. Enough power to run Compuhost, I'm running close to the exact configuration with the exception of running Vista with an Acer. |

That will do just fine. First or second one..laptop hard drives are not that expensive and they are actually easier to replace than towers. hdd Find out if its sata or IDE. Same with memory.. |

Too good to be true? Look at the feedback. Looked at it. might be able to run as a kiosk but would never run Compuhost. About the only karaoke programs that will run on it would be the winamp based ones. |

ripman, The IBM thinkpad is a definite "NO" in my book. I do like thinkpads tho. My wife had one with almost the exact same specs, and I used it as a backup laptop for my shows, but the sound was "jumpy". Thats the only way I can describe it. I think the RAM was the issue tho. I never did get a chance to figure it out, cuz the my one kid tripped on the cord and it went crashing to the floor smashing the whole entire backside of the unit right into the case. Uuhhhhhh,,,can you say "OOPS"??? My suggestion is look for one that has at least 500 mg RAM..The processor isn't that big of an issue, and the hard drive space isn't that big either. But if you're gonna look at used stuff, make sure it has Window XP pro. Nothing better in my opinion. Good luck in your search. Scott |
