Ok basically my playlists are getting outta control as my show grows i'm constantly
adding songs, and i lack orginisational skills so what i need is a karaoke player that will search it's library. Anyone know of one? other than pcdj, i'm not a fan.

also i'm new here and i apologise if this post is in the wrong section or anything.

thanks

I was under the impression that all major karaoke software options provided built-in database search features.

I know the one I currently use searches the database in a flash, including zipped files. I use Siglos Karaoke Professional. Compuhost and Sax and Dotties even have more bells and whistles.

Compuhost searches as you type! Talk about fast and functional!

I love running shows with this software... I've seen too many KJs punishing themselves with Winamp... drop it and get this!

If you don't want to spend $300 for Compuhost, Just Karaoke from Tricerasoft is $25.

I use winamp with autokdj and it works just great. It has search as you type and searches through my database of over 13000 songs fast enough for me. Also has rotation and history and best of all its FREE!

Did MTU hoster ever fix their search and bring it into the 1990s?

Thats why I prefer software that is windows based. You have control over basic functions such as search. Also you have all the windows functions such as sorting by artist or title and sort descending or ascending. In Rox with SAYT there is a full list before your finger hits the next key. I have never had a search delay.

Also I can access and get music from a mainframe using LAN wireless with no problems.

You've got music stored on an IBM System 36 somewhere?

I'm wondering, that no one replied to that yet. So here it goes...

Compuhost is not $300. The last time I checked, the price was $179.95... (which was a second ago, I admit lol)

Anyway, I've tried AutoKDJ, PCDJ/KJ, Roxbox (which is the best IMHO for being Winamp based), Hoster (a friend ran it, before he jumped on CH), Karma and Siglos Pro (as trial). Bot so far, CompuHost was the best out of all of them. I know it's in the upper class when it comes to the price. But so far it is well worth every Penny.

Sorry, I haven't looked at Compuhost in a long time, maybe I was including the book software with the Compuhost price. At $179 it's a lot more affordable than I thought. From everything I've read it's the best program available although I haven't tried it yet. I've used Hoster a bunch of times and it could be a lot more refined IMO. I REALLY don't like proprietary file formats.

After hauling my rack mount DAW around for years (it's as heavy as a rack server) I affectionately call it the mainframe.. I got it in a tower now and it;s just the badboy.
Ive had cars with smaller radiator fans than this CPU fan.

I do miss the Delta44sound board.

Hmmm, I'd be VERY surprise  They are usually behind everyone  I remember when they were saying that only Plextor and some old Yamha drive can read CDG when everyone else could  I'm serious, it took them at least 3 years to finally read with other brands  Once they fix the search issue, they'll say we have a huge improvement and therefore, you'll need to buy a new license

Never had a problem with their search.

There are some programs out there STIll that only are compatible with certain drives. Goldenhawk come to mind?

Compuhost does not cost $300. Where are you getting your figures? It costs around $180. It is by far the most featured software on the market for a nonwinamp based software.

No, I wasn't really talking about the search engine, Mickey brought this up... but how behind MTU can be compared to the competition

You're right about Goldenhawk but keep in mind that it's not a good reference, they were once at the same level as MTU but now, MTU is far ahead  I don't think anyone is still alive at Goldenhawk

Hoster search is spot on. I can find a song and drag it to play most times in less than 5 seconds. (I do type for a living, though).
