My wife and I went to one of our favorite shows that we don't get to go to very often. (It is almost an hour from our home.) It was a total blast. All the people there we have met over the past four years singing karaoke, the regulars in that part of Cincinnati. What a bunch of great people. Friendly, funny, entertaining, great attitudes. Everyone complimenting each other when they do well. Clapping for singers good and bad.
We have two or three different karaoke crowds we see nowadays, and we thoroughly enjoy ourselves. Some are becoming pretty close friends too.
Karaoke people are good people.
The age group is all ages. My two main groups are 20 somethings and 50 somethings. I can honestly say my group in their twenties is wonderful. Respectful kids having fun. Jerks come in all ages.
, that's been my experience, too. Great people who like to BS and have a good time. It's a paradigm shift from what the first show I ever went to, back in 2002, was like...and, not surprisingly, I only tried that place 4-5 times in the span of a few months before I gave up the ghost.
The nice thing about my tastes -- some selections from all different genres (but no country -- country bores me) and all different time periods from '50s on up but mostly '60s/'70s and more R&B/funk/hip-hop records than anything else -- is that those tastes are SO different from other folks in this area that I NEVER have to worry about duplicating what anyone else does.
