Probably 75% of the kj's here run computer. I use MTU Hoster personally because it fits all my needs. Compuhost is another major player that many like, RoxBox is another. If you are happy with your program, than go with it, otherwise try the demos on some of the others.

Karafun is a great home software, it's built on the Bass engine, has a great graphic resolution, it's FREE but I don't think you would want to run a show with it

You can also use Karawin, they have a FREE version but not aging very well...

You will need the usb dongle that came with that exact version of Compuhost on that computer. I don't know about replacing it. You could probably go to their website and get some info. Just google compuhost.

A compuhost program on any computer is a demo version without the dongle. The dongle is really what you are paying for. Otherwsie the program will only play the first two minutes of all songs. I fret over losing this important piece of hardware. If I lose it, I have to pay for the program all over again. I have found out that if you remove the dongle after having it inserted and using the program, the program will continue to play full songs. At least it did the one time I discovered by accident. Of course, if you shut the program down or the computer down, then you are back to 2 minute songs without the dongle.

To buy the dongle, errr program, go here.

interesting.... that means that compuhost only looks for the dongle on startup and no other time...

You can't do that with Karaoke Songfinder.... If you pull the dongle, the program will detect it and shut down (gracefully I might add).
