I use the Compuhost software which allows me to insert soundbytes and cue them at my discretion but I don't have very many just an applause soundbyte and a couple of others. I was wondering if anyone knew any good web sites where i could get some really good ones that are not too offensive. Thanks....Go Lakers!!!

EMusic has sound effects you can download. Don't know about ITunes and the like but you can check.

One thing we found is no one is really listening enough to play something like a joke or something that has to be followed. By the time they catch on something is happening, it's gone. We used to try to play the 2001 Elvis intro as an Elvis singer was making their way to the stage and they were so busy talking or trying to make their way up that it was just sort of a "huh?" moment. We had also thought of interspersing Simon Cowell saying somehing after a person sang but the attention for catching those sort of things just wasn't there.

I like your applause, though.

Go Lakers indeed! I googled around, got all mine. I have hundreds of quotes, sounds, laughs from different movies. For instance Dustin Hoffman from Tootsie "shame on you you macho sh3thead". Or Bill Murray from Caddyshack "bark like a dog" Or "yeah and monkees might fly out of my butt." I like to use this one when one of my friends sings "You ougtta be ashamed of yourself" from the wizard of oz. "Exccellent" from fast times at ridgemont high.

I also have many video bites that I use during instramentals. One shows beavis and butthead rocking out.

You can always make one as well. From DVD movies, just get a "what you hear' recorder for the computer & make your own wav files that you can snip & edit to exactly what you want.

I have a couple that I've found around the net"

Someone sing "don't fear the reaper", I play Christopher Walken saying, "I have a fever, and the only cure is more cowbell"

Hot chick comes up to sing, I have Joey from friends, "So ah, how you doin'?"

For someone who's being obnoxious, I've got Gilber Godfried, "I just can't take it anymore!"

When I close my show, I say the typical, "Drive safe, tip your bartender" and then play Arnie, "I'll be back" :D

These are just from around the net, and you can think of endless one to do.

My personal favorite, for those drunks that want to babble, is the quote from Billy Madison. "What you just said was the most insanely idiotic................this whole room is now dumber........I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul".
I also use "git r done" or " you might be a red neck" after a real hick type country song. Promo only has a ton of freebies, most are garbage but some keepers. If you want to stick to mainstream stuff, there are several sites with popular movie clips.

also playing tv show themes is a good idea for filler, like the Jeffersons, Fresh Prince, and Magnum PI, at least here in hawaii.

I've played out my "gimme that filet-fish, gimme that fish" soundbite from the mcdonalds commercial. I had many singers saying that stuck in their heads for weeks! I also used to play snippets from Caddy Shack back in the day.

Just make sure to dumb it down for your crowd.

I asked the KJ to play Gary Glitters "Rock and Roll" for filler after a pre-teen was singing Aqua's "Barbie Girl"

And another time when a long haired flamboyant guy was going full diva on a Rolling Stones song. I asked the KJ to play Q Lazarus "Goodbye Horses"

Besides myself and friends, no one else got the joke.

Tonight I am going to try a few sound-sound bytes. One will be a jet airplane.
