Anyone come across a cheap adapter to put on a CRT karaoke stand or adapted one to take an 17" or 19" LCD monitor

i like that ,trying to find something simular in the UK ,looked at some brackets but they cost nearlly as much as a complete new stand, seems a waste to not to beable to use the old stand just need to do as you have done or a new bracket of some kind for the top.

Get a piece of sheet metal and drill some holes in it. 8-) I essentially had to do that to mate the existing platform to the mount.

Those CRT stands have a platform already, the one you set the monitor on. I mated the mount to that. I did that instead of mounting directly so that 1) I could remove the CRT for transport and 2) could get at the back to connect cables.

cheers m8 £6 is alot better than about £35- £40 for a full new stand or about £25 just for a pole mount to fit on the old stand ,and that one of your looks real good and solid.
thanks again.

This is something I've been looking for as well. It appears to be an inexpensive alternative to the ready-made stands costing upward toward $100 (or more). I do have a question on your application. In previewing the new LCD stands, I noticed that they are quite heavy in comparison to the CRT stand. I assumed the added weight was for the purpose of stabilization. Have you encountered any stability problems yet? I've always been wary of the CRT stand for that reason.

No, no problems at all. I have two of them, actually -- one of the new-style and one converted CRT. Neither is a problem.

I got one of these and now strap the LCD monitor on to one of my speaker tripods or any other handy pole :)

Thats alot better price than ive seen simular clamps, ordered the slide fitting now but may get one of them in a few weeks to use in places where there isnt enough room for a stand.

The beauty of this clamp is that you can take your crt platform/shelf of it's pole and clamp this on, with a LCD monitor, very easily.
