I started a new gig at a really nice bar Last Night, and making exactly what I want. What makes it even more rewarding is this is a gig I pitched before, and lost it to a hard drive pirate with horrible equipment, and no ability to use it, of course at a much lower price. I know because I sang a song there. This was two months ago and they had gone through her an another KJ since then.

Last night many of my Saturday regulars came, and I only got hired the day before. The bar was also filled with other people who just saw the banner, came in and stayed. Some sang, many didn't, all had a great time. The place was filled to capacity all night, and everybody was into it, people were dancing in the limited space when a song grooved them, everyone was plenty loud with genuine applause. Many complemented me personally, many others informed the bartenders and manager how much they liked me, especially after their recent experiences there. Good thing too, since I garanteed that the sound would be a thousand times better, and that they will get to see how a professional operates.
Finished the night with high fives from the staff. This is my best venue yet, and first getting what I feel I deserve compensation wise, and am excited about having this new Friday gig.

I may of played a little too loud, but is sounded great, and everybody seemed to like it. No complaints anyways.

It's always nice to hear a success story !

Hopefully they've been through so many KJs because the previous ones weren't good and not because the owner is one of those who think changing entertaiment people frequently brings him new crowds.

Yeah Babs, I hope so. You never know. He offered me Saturday also, but I have a gig. One, my Saturday stood by me while I built a good following in an area different than I was previously, though for less than I would prefer, but probably what he can afford. Two like you said, I might end up not liking him, the venue, or vice versa.

But I think loyalty to my original venue is just good karma.

Very cool. From the comments and behaviour you mentioned, the till should be fuller and the owner can't be that dumb!
