I'm getting ready to set up the recording feature for compuhost. I've ordered a new interface that has an Input as well as an output.

The question I have is how to hook up the output for my board. I use the Yamaha MG166CX mixer, and the most obvious setup would be to run the REC OUT to the interface's input, but that doesn't allow me to control the recording level output.

As an alternative I though I could hook up the GROUP 1-2 Outputs, which have a separate fader control... this should allow me more control to adjust the recording level right??

Or alternatively, is there a way on my computer to adjust the recording level, so that I just hook it up to the rec out like I'm supose to?

The manual is very vague, unfortunately... describing what the control does, but not providing potential applications or setup diagrams beyond the most basic set ups. Ack!

Ah, found it! Never mind

Windows Vista
1. Open Control Panel in Classic View
2. Select "Sound"
3. Select the "Recording" tab
4. Select the applicable Recording Device (Sound Card and Input Port) ie:Line In
5. Click the "Properties" button
6. Select the "Levels" tab to adjust the input level, lower settings are generally preferred.
