Was wondering how many KJs use Sunfly and what do you think of it?

I have several Sunfly songs and while they aren't the best they are good for hard to find songs.

Sunfly are Hit or Miss.
When they are good they can be very good.
Unfortunately when they are bad...

I find them good for UK stuff, they seem to be in time with the original when directly compared. Their rap or pop rap leaves a bit to be desired as they often have one or both parts of duet song singing along as more than background.

On the plus side I've seen a couple of my requests make it onto their Most Wanted discs.

Have any Legends? Then you have heard Sunfly.

As far as rap is concerned, Sunfly's version of "California Love" (2Pac) is the only one I've seen with all the lyrics displayed. And I've got it on SC too.

A lot of newer Sunfly is very good to great. And there's some recent stuff that's really good too. Their version of "Heart Shaped Box" is way better than SC for example. But it is a spotty mix once you start getting old.

Sunfly, definitely not the best - very hit or miss IMO as well. But do have lots of songs not available here and most of the ones i've bought specific disc for have actually turned out to be fairly ok.

Almost every SunFly I have was bought for one particular song. Usually the Most Wanted Series. For the songs I got them for, they are good, like Boys Don't Cry or Man Who Sold The World.

Definately not worth being one of the most expensive manu's.

The neat thing about Sunfly is that they have downloads available at Tricerasoft.com. If I had to buy their disks, I wouldn't have any.

Practically all my Sunfly tracks have been downloads too. And that's what I would suggest Gemini - go to the British download sites like Selectatrack and listen to the clips provided. That may help you determine whether you want to go there with this brand.

How does that work with buying from the UK? Are there any import taxes or anything. The website I was on all the prices are in pounds. I am looking to buy Mr. Entertainer Series vol. 57, was nervous about buying outside US.

Felix both Selectatrack and Tricerasoft also calculate in dollars. That option is in your shopping cart I think - now that I'm registered it automatically does that. And yes there's a VAT added. And a small foreign transfer fee on my Mastercard.

Actually saw my 1st Mr. Entertainer song last night (on one of my customs), the music is great, the word swipes are fine, although take a little getting used to.
Is it a particular song you are getting that disc for?

Yeah Lonman, Cocaine Blues by Johnny Cash. Keep on getting request for it. I believe it can be downloaded. I plan on going laptop soon, but still like having a physical disc for all my music. Think I will continue to buy disc, and rip em. I haven't seen this song on any other disc than Mr. Entertainer 57.

Then order a custom disc and get the physical disc!
http://selectatrack.com/Search.aspx?Typ ... ne%20blues

I do believe you have to order a minimum of 5 songs (don't know I just order until the disc is full), but it would be alot better to find 5 requested songs than 1 disc for 1 song that the rest may or may not be good!
I just order 2 custom discs on 6/22 & recieved BOTH on 6/29! The do a great job. Plus you can preview each track at least for sound quality. A 5 song disc would run you about $17 plus shipping & fee would be about $25.
I'm going on my 8th custom from them this week.

Sunfly are the No1 manufacturer here in the UK. SC & CB are not generally available here. Some of the older Sunfly stuff can be a bit hit & miss, but their monthly releases are usually as good as any other. Plus with each release, you get a 'most wanted' disc of 15 obscure/previously unreleased tracks. Its a pretty good system.

Ripped my first Sunfly today. Haven't listened to much yet but Sympathy for the Devil isn't too bad. I do have some Legends.

Okay Lonman, I ordered my first custom disc from SelectATrack. Kinda expensive, but definately filled some holes I had. Made a 6 song disc for about $32.

Undone The Sweater Song - Weezer - AX
Even The Nights Are Better - Air Supply - LG
One - Metallica - LG
Cocaine Blues - Johnny Cash - ME
Close To Me - The Cure - SF
No You Girls - Franz Ferdinand - SF
Buddy Holly - Weezer - SF

I can't wait to get it and add to my book.

Maybe it gets more economical if you order more songs? Or depends on brand? I just got a 17 song disc from Selectatrak for $56 including shipping.

Expensive in what way? Think about it, you were going to order an entire disc for 1 song! Now you have SIX songs that you actually need for probably about $10-15 more than that one disc you were looking at.!
