I want to start Kareoke in another language. Can you tell me how to get started and what are some of the legal issues, etc? Thanks |

I've been doing karaoke in Spanish for awhile now. So far it works exactly the same way as English. You just have to know which songs to look for. Tropical Zone CDG's are working great for me. I've been considering Korean music now too since that's the other predominant non-English languae in the military town I live in. It helps if you can speak the other language to motivate people to sing non-English songs, but it's not necessary. Good luck. |

Not sure what the question is, if any ...I have a show frequented by many foreingers and though they generally sing mostly standards, I keep a "international" list available - german, greek, french, italian, portuguese... it's always a hoot when something is done in a native language. had some german tune sung this week that was a riot. acekaraoke.com has been a great source for this material. got a lot of latin stuff, but i don't keep current; standards seem to suffice. still searching for some dutch tracks. Had someone from amsterdam last week drop me a card and will hopefully land a link to acquire that. |

well what i meant was that i want to make the cds because this particular language does not have any kareoke material to begin with. and if i wanted to use these songs what are some of the legal issues as far as royalty to record companies or whoever holds the rights. and do the songs need to be re performed and so on? thanks |

In that case the only thing I can think of would be to use the original CD music with a vocal eliminator. From what I understand, these work very well at removing almost all lead vocals from music tracks. Now as far as the onscreen lyrics go, I'm not sure what you can do about that short of downloading the lyrics off the internet and printing them out for your singers to use if they don't already know the words. My experience with other languages has shown me that most of the time, they already know the words though. |

There are software programs that allow you to import text and time the swipes to the music. Check out mtu.com - they also have other related products for vocal removing, etc. |

Hi zal Am new here but I get your problem. See, I don't normaly sing Eng. songs but some other songs in some minor Asian language. If you look hard enough you will find the karaoke version of most song. Vocal eliminator softwares does't work,leave a large hole in the music track; I used them to make my own cdg as the last resort and only good for pracisting at home |
