I am wondering, knowing that we are supposed to legally have a cd for all of the music that we have, I have looked at several download sites that say they are legal and you have to pay a yearly fee to download their music. Question is, since they are downloads, you do not get a origional cd, is that really legit?

If you give some addresses most here would probably give some feedback on those sites.

Most importantly Keep the Receipts

Ask them if they download a copy of the license with each track.

There is a karaoke host who has visited our show who keeps trying to get us to join a download site. His books are double column, fine print and take two huge notebooks just to cover A-Z. We keep telling him that file sharing clubs are illegal and he keeps insisting they aren't. So we checked the site again and it says it is perfectly legal unless by using the site you are violating any laws. yeah, right......So we continue to be the suckers with only 5,000 CDG songs.

Not suckers, but a class act. ANYTHING is legal as long as it doesn't violate any laws... The wording on the site is a ridiculous disclaimer.
