You need to find out out if your program can play any video format - many karaoke software cannot, then purcahse a converter that will rip DVD's to that format if it can. The program I use will play video files - even VOB.

Sometimes with a *.vob file you can just copy it and then rename the extension to *.mpg I have done this many times and it has worked, provided your player will play mpg files.

If you only wish to extract the audio portion of the DVD, try this software, you get a full 30 day trial, you should be able to extract in 30 days

http://www.castudio.org/dvdaudioextractor/

Or this one if you need the graphic

http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm

Not sure if they will support .vob but give it a try :D

Hi

I read this post with great interest as I also have some dvd discs (greek songs)
that I want to convert, prefably into MPEG & CDG, however when I try all the programms I have looked at don't reconise these discs.
When I look at the disc it contains five folders names CDI , EXT , MPEGAV ,SEGMENT and VCD can any one help me, as at the moment I have to play the discs through my karaoke machine and not the pc which means mid show changing leads for the tvs etc.I just want to play them through pc like my other music.

Any advise would be great thanks in advance

Mollycat
