Hi, all, I'm back! Well, I haven't done any karaoke since about Oct. of last year. When I've had the time, I just haven't had the energy. A few months ago, I noticed that I was frequently short of breath, and just going from one room to the next was difficult. To make a long story short, I was hospitalized for a few days with congestive heart failure. I am home now and back at work part-time (I go back full-time on July 20), but I'm on a low-sodium diet, and having to keep track of everything I eat. I feel a lot better now, and I have lost some weight, which is a good thing, but I'm still getting used to this diet. It surprised me to find out I had congestive heart failure at 46, but then my dad died of a heart attack when he was almost 47, so it may be hereditary. At any rate, I'm trying to take care of myself and make sure I live a long time. Hope to get back into the karaoke groove sometime soon! |

I'm glad you're getting better! I recently lost about sixty pounds, in the beginning it was I became a vegan for moral reasons (animal cruelty and what not), then weight started kind of falling off. My point is not to convert you, but to say that there are some vegan substitutes that might make your new way of eating a bit easier, you can still have some fun with food without the damage to your body. Now. . . Go sing! It's almost been a year! |

hi Laura, sorry to hear about ur health, i'm on a low salt diet also...there's a no-salt they sell on the net called ALSO SALT, i love it...zero salt but its really good, no its not salt but close to it...i tried all the others ewwww....u use it more after u have cooked ur food then putting it in it....i have always loveddd salt but this really really helped....try it out.. glad ur feeling better...tc and welcome back |

Well, I'm feeling a lot better now, and a couple of nights ago I went karaoke-ing, so I'm back in the "sing" of things.

I'm on three BP meds and can't get my diastolic below 115...  . 195/115- I'm a walking time bomb... Must be all the touring !
