I picked up Taylor Swift's entire second album (Fearless) in kararoke format, with ORIGINAL ALBUM TRACKS, at Wally World for $13.88 this weekend. Too bad more artists don't do this. Very, very good instrumentation, and very familiar to TS fans as the music is identical. No surprises. 13 songs for $13.88.

THAT sounds great! No branches of the store near me. Big Machine is the MFR?

I'm no expert, but I remember from another thread we had here that artists over seas put out their songs on karaoke discs. For some reason here in the states artists think it is beneath them to do so.

I think they are missing out on a huge market that they aren't tapping into.

This was mentioned a while back with her first cd as well. K-Mart, Walmart, Target all had them at one time.

When I got the TS cdg I was excited over the fact that her label is putting karaoke out, I think Toby Keith owns Big Machine, so hopefully since this this release has sold sooo many copies that some other major labels will follow suit.

The tracks are almost identical to the originals which helps with the younger Karaoke singers, I have a few 8 year olds (with their parents ofcourse) who are amazing that frequent my shows.

This is a CDG that will be used ALOT , and cheap enough too!

Yes, we discussed this when I bought the first TS release which was her Fearless release. I have since bought her first release Taylor Swift, so I have every song she has recorded.

The songs are not nearly identical. They are the exact same recording as the regular CD, just with her vocals removed, and graphics added. The same band, the same background singers.

Scott Borchetta of Dreamworks and Toby Keith began Big Machine in 2005. Toby dropped out in 2006.

Well, you can get an original Queen album in karaoke from the Walt Disney "Artist Karaoke Series" for $9,99 at W-Mart  I never thought I'd be singing with Freddie one day, you can hear him say, "Singin" in We Will Rock You 8)

Yup, I picked that one up quite a while ago - sadly nobody has sung off it at any of my shows but the music is great.

I found some really off-brand CDGs at the goodwill the other day - there were 3 in all but I only picked up two of them. They are called "Pop Party" and they were numbered 1, 2, and 3. They are SONY/BMI, CD one is original songs (22 on each), then there is a second CD included which is a CDG and they have 12-13 songs on them from that first collection. Original artists are on the main disc and I believe it is the identical tracks on the CDGs. www.popparty3.co.uk (Oh, okay, just noticed they are UK brand ... perhaps why I didn't recognize a few of the artists.) Anyway, I've found some really interesting CDGs while digging through CDs at the local goodwills, and never have to spend much to get them.

I always look in the thrift stores for used discs - never get lucky. Same with Pawnshops. I asked why to one around the corner, they said that karaoke discs don't have a high demand? BS, I know i'd be buying them up if I saw them in there. Funny they have thousands of cd's that have been there since the dawn of time, yet still keep buying those up from people. THen they have to run sales to try to get rid of the old stock.
