Hi yall, This is my first post so I'll get the formalites taken care of first. I've been DJing and KJing for about 6 years. I use PCDJFX with the karaoke plug in on my laptop, run powered mackies with a smaller stage monitor speaker, cordless mics and a lcd monitor. My music is legit. I receive a monthly update disk from RPM for my dance music each month. Lately they have been adding a few instrumental versions of some of the popular songs. So my question is has anyone tried and/or can they recommend a software to create a graphics file and turn these instrumental mp3s into a karaoke song? I've searched the web but none of the software seems to have good customer reviews. Also there are a few songs I would love to have on karaoke and never been able to find them, in particular a few Mother's Finest songs. I have a regular singer that would think they had died and gone to heaven if I could ever come up with one of those. So thanks for any advice yall have for me. Tina |

Well there are programs to do so. mtu.com has Karaoke Home Producer that will allow you to add the graphics. Then you would need Microstudio (same company) to burn to cdg. Dart Karaoke Studio will do the same thing, costs a little more than both programs above. Power Karaoke CDG Builder is also another, again you would need Power CDG Burner to put onto a cdg. There are others, most have demos you can try out. Not sure what Mothers Finest songs you are looking for, but Sound Choice has Baby Love & Thruth'll Set You Free that you can order on a custom disc. http://www.mykaraokecdg.com.au/customer ... 27s+finest |

Thanks for the reply. I was really hoping to get some first hand knowledge on some of the software my fellow kj's may have tried. It may be way over my head to attempt to synchronize lyrics and music. The Mother's Finest song I really want is Thank you for the love. Also looking for some Jackson Browne, other than the songs on the SGB series. |

A while back, I tried to make a few of my own and tried this software: http://www.powerkaraoke.com/src/prod_karaokecdgcreatorpro.php I liked their player and copying software and I thought I'd give it a try. It has a trial version. I thought it was fairly easy to make my own. The most difficult thing is timing of lyrics versus the music and this one had a nice way of showing the time frame. I haven't used it in a bit but you may want to give it a try and see. |

The man makes some gooooood programs, so I'm just ASSUMING it's a terrific program. I trust the opinions of the ones that have given credit to it! |
