Hi all. Please don't let this forum turn into CraigsList. Selling a set of DK disc or some speakers you don't need anymore has something to do with Karaoke.

Selling cell phones doesn't have anything to do with Karaoke, unles I am wrong.

Not many, but several people read these cell phone post, but nobody said anything.
Identify the SPAM as what it is, so these people might get the hint and stop posting this dung here.

I hate spam in my email, hate it here.

Maybe the powers that be could delete said threads.... they actually take up space for USEFUL (OK, maybe not useful, per se, but at least topic-specific) posts!

The site has tried many things to prevent spam, unfortunitely some still gets through. It is as aggravating to the people running the forum as it is to you. As soon as one of the moderators see it they will delete it off the forum.

One of the reason you have to mark if you are human or not when you sign up for KS is to iliminate spam. so they've gotten pretty creative.

All this spam is making me hungry. Anyone got an apple? LMAO

Here's a suggestion.... Why don't we get 100 of us to respond back to these SPAMMERS privately and say we're interested... Then when they write back to us to make the sale, we tell them that we changed our mind.

BTW... I sent an e-mail via the CONTACT US icon complaining about the 4 SPAMS that I saw in this forum section.

How do you MARK a topic to be flagged by the Admin/SYSOP???

I think one of the problems is there are not moderators for every forum.
Phil has asked for mod's but I don't think that anyone except maybe JD has offered.
That is why the spam stays on.

No one said it was difficult, but it certainly IS annoying to have them take up the space that otherwise appropriate topics would occupy. Anyone up for being a mod even just to delete said topics?

I am new here,(though I lurked a long time lol),not on this forum consistently, and am not the most clever person when it comes to navigating forums, etc, but if it would help, I'd be glad to help take out the 'trash' when I see it ....maybe if several forum members could be given team-effort limmited mod options, it could work ?

Actually with the newer forums the the spammer can be deleted from the memberlist and all their posts deleted in one quick single operation. I think a Global Mod has access to this part of the Admin control panel.

This is the absolute worse spamming I have ever had from one spammer. She has 6 or 8 posts in each forum.

Through mods and changes the report.php has been deleted or made ineffective. Even with this feature it takes a live moderator to distinguish between spam and regular posts. With the captula feature they must register live but can then use bots for massive and multiple posts.

In fighting spam restrictions are placed on prospective members which decreases the joinup rate and eventually kills a forum.

For Phil and the mads here I would recommend google phpbb fighting spam..

I also would be willing to be a spam watcher, I am a upper staff person
at a major midwest outdoor forum. I dont KJ or sing, but am here everyday.
Why? I love to go to karaoke shows and love everything karaoke!

That's all nice and pretty and everything, but like JD asked (several times already) (and me too), other than sending an e-mail to somebody at K-Scene (via the Contact Us hyperlink on the side bar), how do we flag something like this (that is CLEARLY SPAM) for the Moderator/SYSOP to delete???

I told you.... I am not bucking to be a mod, I'm just offering some experience to help the situation.

Restore the report.php back into the forum root folder and and add the option back to the post options.

The prosilver board has this option.. The subsilver2 does not. In phpbb3.0 originally the user had the option in the user panel to revert back to prosilver. For some reason due to the mods and changes to this forum the user control panel board preferences does not have that option anymore.

ROFL.. I might as well be posting everything in Greek....I am trying to get a discourse going on solving the spam problem I have fought spam for years. The report button is no longer considered an important tool for doing so. The spam has to be deleted before all the search engine bots crawl the forum. The data base should be backed up daily.

now that jian is gone lonnie needs some live moderators to monitor for spam and delete spam posts. I dont even know if this forum has been updated to 3.0 and has the latest spam tools.
